What Rules Do You Apply To Your Business - These Are Mine

Hi All

My first product will be up for sale within 3 weeks and I have done my research and set my goals. I have been reading quite a lot about how your reputation counts as much as anything online.

I don't want to fall at the first hurdle so I aim to run my online business by a set of strict rules. I have listed some below but if you can think of anything else I need to know and learn please post.

1. Set daily tasks and stick to them
2. If somethings goes wrong do not look for someone to blame but learn from it.
3. Before purchasing anything of high value (over $100) do my own due dilligence.
4. If I upset someone (even if I think I am right) apologise and move on.
5. Always put the customer first and try to overdeliver.
6. Do not promote any product unless I have used it myself.
7. Always be honest and open and do not exagerate earnings etc.
8. Regardless of my refund policy if someone asks for one just issue it and move on
9. The Buck Stops Here!!!!

Thanks in advance

Jay

Good Job on coming up with those rules.

    As for me it's:

    1. Put passion on the things I do.

When you love doing something, everything comes
naturally (service, value, support, satisfaction and income)

    2. Focus on my goals

    3. Give value to clients

    4. Hire good people

    5. Systematize everything

    6. Leverage

    7. Value people whether they're customers, partners or employees.

    J Cohen,

    1) Pray.
    2) Use technology for leverage.
    3) Work vs. Studying/Learning ratio should be at least 4 to 1
    4) Don't over complicate things.

    (Some of my short list.)

    Good luck.

I go by this set of rules.

F - Find a task to work on
O - Only work on that one task until it is complete
C - Complete all tasks and leave no projects half done
U - Understand where I want to get to with each project
S - Succeed when the project is complete

One which wasn't mentioned, and which I now enforce strictly...

I call it the need to know rule: Only by and or study things which you need to know right now, that will make an immediate impact right now. Ignore the rest. Don't get sucked in to buying stuff in case you might need it later.

Saves me a lot of distraction, money, and info overload.
