Does Yahoo Answers really works?

Dear Warriors,

I have made a step towards using yahoo answers to get traffic to my websites. Sadly, I can't get traffic to my website. I had watched lots of traffic videos and a lot of people says that it really does work.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Yes, but depends on a niche. Gotta be very careful too and really give good advice there. Getting banned is easy there tho. Be very helpful and try to be as little promotional as you can with still getting the link in. In some cases you won't get direct link but traffic will come as they will enter the domain directly into browser...

I know what you mean with not being to promotional. I had one of my account banned only to open up another the same day. I use to put too many links on answers. Thanks.

Yeah, I had 3 banned like that. Too many links (not only to my site tho). My mistake.

Yahoo Answers are so 2000. It dosn't really work anymore. While there are great share of people out there who still use Y! Answers, there aren't really much of any activity.

And correct me if I'm wrong now, but Google is not counting the links in the answers as backlinks anymore.

Well.. I have one tip i can share with you, which worked back in the days. It's about making two accounts, find a problem in your niche or a question many asks and make a question about it, and post a answer with your link in the sources with your another account. Then when you see other people beginning answer your question, log so back to your first account and rank your answer as the best answer so your answer thus link is placed at the top of all answers. That's was the "hardcore" of traffic generation of Y! Answers back in the days..

YahooAnswers is NoFollow, but if you are targeting the right people / niche it's a traffic tool, very simply.

I've scored a few leads from Y! Answers and although it's not much, I think it has potential if properly utlised.

I've already got plans for it up my sleeve and I hope to put it to work soon. There's people there looking for answers so the bottom line is, there's marketing potential. You just need to go about it the right way.

Exactly, it works. There are niches where people are really active...

My first time out I built a great website - unfortunately not in a very commercial niche. BUT, it was a GREAT niche for traffic from yahoo answers apparently, because they day I started answering there my traffic JUMPED. But I was very careful to write out very good answers and come off like the expert I wasn't *chuckle* (this was back in June so, not that long ago.)

Guess it depends on the niche.

This is interesting. I am a newbie and trying to soak up as much 411 from seasoned experts like you guys. Can you enlighten me as to how Yahoo answers works. I am also going to do some google research.

YahooAnswers links are nofollow, yes. But to discount the SEO potential from nofollow links is not quite accurate. Google still counts these links - maybe differently - but you would be surprised.

Yahoo Answers is great place to get traffic but as the guys mentioned, it is too easy to get banned. some areas more sensitive than other to get banned.

Don't force your website everywhere. It should be as a source. For example a question about quite smoking and you wrote about it in your blog. you can write an answer and the end but your source on the source box and so on

I also have few quality traffic from there but as far I think for the long term traffic you need to have a good rank for your targeted keywords.
