I just had to say, I am totally amazed by some of the creative and ingenius ways and methods people come up with to generate cash... I just finished reading an article/post on someone using google trends to find a hot trend, then placing PPC ads for a CPA ad, and making $600 in 12 minutes... sheesh! that is definitely thinking outside the box...

i'm amazed, just wanted to say thanks to people that are sharing their stories.

Cheers!

Hot Trends can generate a ton of traffic and quick too!

      First, go to this URL:

      Google Trends: Jan 17, 2009

Look through the list of hot trends at the moment and try to find a phrase that you can monetize. After looking for a couple of days in a row or even a couple of weeks you can sometimes pick up on trends. One trend that we found was movies when they are released pretty much always have the same search phrase with the new movies name.

Once you find a trend that you can monetize either through affiliate products, CPA, or even adsense, just throw up a quick blog on blogger or your own self hosted blog.

Next, create RSS feeds for your site and submit them to some of the better RSS aggregators. Then do some bookmarking with Digg and some of the others that carry a lot of weight. If you have the know how create a video with a simple power point presentation and upload it to Google.

All of that should take you about an hour and a half or so.

Then all you do is kick back and watch the traffic.

Sometimes, you can even spot a trend early enough to drive the traffic to an opt-in page and start a list in a new niche.

  • I don't wish to sound like a huge fire-engine about to wash out the enthusiasm here, but then, this trend thing might just not be long term. Those $600 could be the very last paycheck?

Not all trends last long -- the key is finding a trend that can last long enough. It again boils down to two things -- over-analyze and die by the time you get to THAT niche or just jump in and figure out as you go along....

    Ahem....End of rant.

You are entirely correct, but you can make money everyday doing it.

Whether that amount is $20 or $500 - depends on the trends that day.

However, for the person that is making $200 a week at their real job. This method alone could replace that income while giving them an education on getting into bigger and better things.

In my opinion, the hardest part is earning that first paycheck. Once you do, everything starts clicking and confidence skyrockets. Making the first check is the most important step I think. Once that happened for me, it was like a whole new world opened up.

          BINGO!!

I've found the same thing to be true. If you can show someone how to make ONE SALE and then just beat the process into them, they usually have an "aha moment" and the rest is history.

What happens a lot of times I think is that people get bogged down in the thinking of, people are making so much money that it has to be complicated. Luckily, it isn't, at all!

It's all about finding a system that you can understand enough in your own head to be confident enough to take a little bit of action and then see results. When I first started, my system of making money was as simple as setting up a squidoo lens and driving traffic to it from articles, and guess what? I was able to make 2K in my first month.

Since then, I have been able to open my mind enough to understand that if you add a couple other things to the mix and tweek it a little bit, there is a lot more money to be made. My family and my bank account have been much happier since I came to that understanding

I agree there are so many ways I never would have even thought of and they seem to generate people a lot of money. I am still pretty new so I just need to stick to a couple of the simple ways 'til I get the hang out everything. But thanks everyone for posting and helping everyone else out.

Johnathan I agree with you completely man, thinking outside the box is key.
Ya he only made $600 on the quick sharp but fair play to him, that is his niche next week he will find some thing else to promote and do it well and he will make some more bank. My thinking if you can make bank ethically and with little effort to you...Fair play buddy

Huh... Yes, that is kind of what I am starting to realize... It doesn't need to be complicated... and some people are doing some very 'simple' things that doesn't say require a mathematics degree (or the approach) to solve problems and generate cash...

No joke, but I can drive traffic like a mofo

In the beginning, I couldn't build a site and didn't want to outsource so, everything was done on the squidoo and blogger type sites.

Now, I have a partner that can build sites, but even if he doesn't have time, I can afford to outsource that or any other thing I want just because I concentrated in the beginning on the things that I could do instead of letting the things I couldn't stop me.

This forum is a wealth of knowledge for sure.

The thing I love is that I don't purchase these big name $1,997 guru products anymore. I just come here and find everything I need in a competitively priced WSO. I love it. I only wish I found it earlier.

i am sitting on something like that for a while now.

G trends is VERY fast-lived, so the best way would be to advertise the site with AdWords to drive immediate traffic to the site. We're dealing with hours here..so there is usually not even time to get a site indexed.

Idea would be a 100% dynamic site which builds itself from Google Trends keywords...and then use plugins to auto-bookmark and auto RSS feed submission, as well as auto generating of ads and uploading them to adwords.
(Problem here: THIS is actually the most difficult part since Google Adwords API is 'odd' to work with

Yes, Google Hot Trends is fast-lived and also... short-lived!

You gotta be able to relate the things mentioned on the hot trends list to certain products or services e.g. (1) if a singer's name is mentioned, then maybe you want to promote a ringtone cpa offer or a music download, or (2) if a health issue is discussed, then perhaps you want to identify the health products which are helpful to the patients
