Dumb question about trackbacks?

I think I've got the basics down on trackbacks (maybe not) but need clarification on one point.

I want to leave a trackback on someone's blog and it's maybe 50 words of praise for their article. In making that post I am sending that comment to my home page, right?

If so, this is out of character for my blog.

What if I want to do five or ten trackbacks in a day? My blog is going to send out 5-10 posts to my subscribers and I'd guess many of them would unsubscribe as a result of all that.

I've probably got you laughing by now, thinking, "This guy really doesn't get it."

Hopefully, you'll take a moment to set me straight.

Thanks.

Something to keep in mind, even though your doing trackbacks, does not mean your trackback and link will show on the other persons blog, many people moderate trackbacks just like they do comments. Least I do.

Not that it's a bad idea, just saying you might not get the love back. Also it would be a recip link, that is not as good to the search engines. Your energy might be better spent posting comments on other blogs that dofollow. Would be one way links and keep your blog cleaner. I personally would be more likely to click on a comment posters link, rather than their trackback link, don't know if I've ever clicked those.

    Just my thoughts

Only dumb question is the one not asked.
