U.S. Residents: Do this if you need money fast!

Internet Marketing is wonderful and Warrior Forum is the best IM forum out there but when you need money fast and don't have a list of loyal subscribers, it's probably better to look elsewhere.

With that in mind, here's a proven money maker you can use now or save for a rainy day. The work is labor intensive and may require a truck so it's not for everyone but it may be for you.

If you've ever gotten new tires for your car, you know that the auto shop charges $3 to $4 to dispose each of your old tires. The auto shop charges you because it usually costs them the same amount to get the tires disposed.

The large auto shops usually have agreements with a tire recycling company for picking up the scrap tires on a scheduled basis. The small auto shops have to either take the tires to the recycling facility themselves or store them at their shop until they've gathered enough quantity to meet the pickup requirements of the tire hauling company.

The problem for the large and small auto shops is that most states have very strict rules on storing the tires. For example, the tires cannot be stored out in the open where rain can fall on them and possibly create a breeding ground for mosquitos. So naturally, to avoid hefty fines, the auto shops want to rid themselves of the scrap tires as soon as possible. Having a reliable 'company' come pick up the tires within a couple of hours of making a phone call would solve the problem, however, as most auto shops will tell you, finding reliable tire haulers is not easy.

That's where you come in. If you have access to a truck that can hold 100 scrap tires, you can make at least $200 per trip to the recycling facility. Most auto shops will be happy to pay you at least $3 per scrap tire. Many recycling facilities will charge you $1 to take each tire off your hands. This means you get $2 for each tire and for 100 tires, you get $200.

If you don't have a truck but do have a large enough place where you can store up to 100 tires and keep them dry, you can have the recycling company come pick them up.

In order for this business to be feasible, you need to have enough small auto shops in your area to regularly supply you with the tires or you'll need one large auto shop that is not satisfied with their current tire hauler. In either case, you'll need to be a registered business in order for the auto shops to legally supply you with the tires (otherwise any Joe can pickup the tires, collect the money and dump the tires somewhere).

You also need to have a tire recycling facility close by to keep your costs contained. Here's a list of scrap tire facilities in the Tri-state area along with the amount they charge to come pickup the tires from you. If you deliver the tires to them, the prices will be slightly lower.

Hmm.. I doubt I will need this, but this is an AWESOME post.

    Just had to say that.

EXCELLENT way of thinking "outside the box" and finding creative ways to make money. And it's honest, you aren't scamming people or trying to rip anybody off.. I love it.

I'm sending you a friend request, and I don't usually send friend requests. That is how awesome your post is.

I seriously think this will help a LOT of people who come to this forum in hopes of finding an idea that they can actually DO - And this one, they can do.

Let me just add to this post with this:

Don't have a truck? I'm sure you know someone who does. So split the profits and get to work!

    lol that is all.

I honestly can't think of a reason why they would..

If I was broke and needed money and I was just getting started with IM (I say this because I now do IM full-time so I'm definitely not broke, lol) - I would try this method WAY before I tried some of these other crackpot schemes that I see on here day-in and day-out.

I can. How about because this is an Internet Marketing chat forum and not a general biz op chat forum? No offense to the OP for trying to help, but this is off topic. If this is allowed, soon you will start seeing posts on how to start a windshield repair business or how to build a hot dog stand.

    That is a sweet idea!

I have to admit though that I dont think most trucks can hold 100 tires. Depending on the bed, probably 20-40 but tires are bigger than most people think.

But yeah- definitely a good idea

War Room threads need to be approved by a moderator before they go live.

I've tried to post a thread in there before, offering to create free e-Covers for War Room members from their own images if they needed one created, and it did the same thing.

Wish I had known that before I typed that giant wall of text. LOL oh well, you live and you learn

Just don't do it this way.

Rent storage room. Fill it with tires. Not pay rent.

A man was arrested in Florida for doing this in a serial manner.

    Reminds me of something similar.

Around here we have what are called pallet farms. What they do is they go to local businesses and get there used pallets that have broken boards and take them all home and use some of the broken ones to fix others. From my understanding the businesses are more than happy to give you their old pallets at no cost and there is an unlimited number of pallets available from local businesses.

Then they sale the freshly repaired pallets back to the same business they got them from in the first place.

Basically all that you need is a truck and a place to keep pallets you are working on and you are in business.

I once read a story about a guy who started a pallet business in college part time and eventually grew it to a 15 million a year business.

    Just an idea.

    Interesting.

Hadn't ever thought of doing that. Definitely doable, though!

I'm not sure how huge a truck would have to be to hold 100 tires at at time but I'm thinking it would have to be a semi! I think more than one trip would be in order depending on how many tires each shop had.

  • Very Ingenious - AND useful!

    and green thinking!

Anyone want to rent a 20ft moving van? It ought to hold about 100 tires...

Its not about starting a business, its about making money.. ANYONE with access to a truck can do this.. So I don't really see the problem to be honest.

The subtitle for this section says "Where we talk about making money"

It does NOT say "Where we talk about making money online"

If you can make money with it, then I don't see a problem sharing the info in this section.. If you dont agree with the thread just dont reply to it

I did not say whether I agreed with the OP or not. I simply responded to your comment in the discussion. I could easily turn this back on you and say, "If you do not want to participate in a discussion, then don't make a post.", but I won't.

That might have come out wrong, I've had a few drinks tonight. But basically what I meant is if you dont like the thread/topic or whatever, then dont reply. But if the idea can really make money, then I say give it a shot.. there are plenty of other places for threads on the first page, and this one, too, will die out eventually.

PS: I have no problem with "discussion" and I actually encourage it.. It's nice to see an actual debate every now and then, not everybody agrees with everything.. Ya know?

Interesting idea! I do not think it is feasible for me right now in my apartment with my Honda carrying tires, but that is just really cool!

I think my wife would not be happy if I turned our place into a tire depot. The cats would love it.

My brother lost his job and is having a tough time finding another one so when I forwarded this to him, he was very excited. I will let you know how he fairs or just have him post his results here. We don't have a truck but we have a huge shed that can be used to store the tires if the recycling facility is willing to come pick them up.
