Do Copyscape Banners Work?

I just found that someone used one of my articles on their site without including a link. They may also have found it on Ezinearticles, it doesn't really matter. I didn't see any contact info so I left a message on their blog.

I notice that Copyscape has banners you can use on your site that say "Do Not Copy..." I was wondering if this is really an effective way to discourage plagiarism. It wouldn't help with the problem of people taking articles published on directories, of course.

It's not a major issue, but I don't really like the idea of having a big "Warning!" type banner next to all my articles -I feel that there might be something off-putting about it, even to regular readers. But if it really works, it might be worth it.
