allintitle: vs " keyword/s "

I'm just playing around with some keywords and found
that for this bunch of long tail keywords it gives:

Using Seo book keyword tool
this keywords gives me 131 overall search results daily.
We've all heard that the "magic number" is
about 3000 searches per month
so 131 x 31 = 3930 approx per month

14 400 00 search results in google WITHOUT quotes
3150 search results WITH quotes
271 search results with allintitle

Would you say thats a good set of numbers to start doing
some article marketing ? And what is the best way to
determine whether you can top the search results ?

Many thanks

The numbers sound good. Decent searches, low competition in quotes.

You can also check the keyword on the first page of Google without quotes for:

    1. User Generated Content - Sites like Squidoo, Hubpages, Scribd, EZA, etc. that let you post your own content. If you see them ranking, you probably can too.

    2. Average Page Rank - PR isn't extremely accurate, but helpful. Take the top 10 listings in Google for your keyword (no quotes), check each sites' Page Rank, add them up, divide by 10. If the average PR is 3 or less, your chances are good.

    3. Adsense - If the top 10 listings in Google are authority sites and you think you can't rank up there quickly, look at each site to see if they have Adsense ads. If they do, use Adwords site placement to at least put an ad up.

Or, you can use my favorite method ... the SIUTASWH formula. (That stands for "Slap It Up There And See What Happens").

Anyway, those are a few more options for you. Hope this helps

Thank you for all replys ! How would you know if its an authority website If you've never heard of it ? Would you say if its higher than ezinearticles the its an authority website ? If ezinearticles page rank is 6, the it should be lower ?

      Thank you all

Sounds like you got a lot of keywords. I use ezinearticles for my articles and usfreeads. If you use a bookmark site like Delicious and enter your article address to develop back links and enter your article address in URL Google to get it posted faster. Make sure you find keywords that are less then 10,000 so you have better chance to be in first page rank around sixth or so. You can add more back links to push you article up higher. You can also look at article distribution sites, where they will post your article to thousands of other article sites for a little fee.

    Jeff,
thanks for the post. On the subject of pagerank of competition, do you have a rule of thumb that would change the "divide by 10 method" if none of the competitors had KW in title (allintitle)?

As a relatively newbie, I'm try to guesstimate how much weigh a KW intitle has versus higher PR ranked sites that don't have KW in title.

Wonder if any experienced members have a "ballpark" weight value for
domain age, # backlinks (weighted by pr of bl), kw in title, KW in description, etc.

using quotes instead of the allintitle will highlight the title, description and the url, rather than the title when you use the search function.. using quotes isn't going to help you find the competitiveness, allintitle will amongst others.

      Jeff,

Thanks for the post. Regarding point #2, I'm wondering if an average PR of 1.5 for the top 10 listings would be enough to overcome 15-20,000 phrase match competition for a given KW? Or should I just go with the SIUTASWH model? Using an EZA article linked to a USFA ad...
