Has anyone sold/flipped a Twitter account? I've poked around and can't find anything like that, but I figure it's been done?

Maybe I should have been more clear:

Has anyone ever sold the password to their twitter account? I know they can't sell the account directly itself.

        I gave one away once.

I am part of an international business networking group and they changed their name, at the time, I was relatively new to twitter and took the name of the new association.

Then the owner/founder/ceo of the company was using a similar but not direct match to his company name so I realized that the company should have it and I gave it to him.

It is now a really active account on twitter.

i think no, because it is special for someone or something
may be it is sold with a website or so together with the facebook fan page as a package when some on e sells a company or a website
but account itself i do not think it is a good trade

I don't think the owner of twitter like Flippa if that happened.

  • The selling of a twitter account is a rare thing indeed. Usually its because of the name mores than the followers. In a few years maybe people will pay top dollar for twitter accounts that match their domain name.

I have not seen or heard of twitter account sold, probably it was sold together with the website assign to it... But lets think of it, it can be possible to do that, maybe someone with lager list of followers and following can decide to sell his account.

FYI - In the twitter rules , you can not sell twitter accounts , its a violation, and the account is suspended if they see you are trying to sell it. The only twitter accounts that are successfully sold are ones with websites.

Okay, int'g. I had looked in flippa and saw nothing, so I wondered if this was the case. However, I do see people offering to build up followers for people of course, so what I was wondering if they ever actually built up an acct first and then tried to sell it off...

What is the benefit of buying a Twitter account? Twitter can suspend the account in a nano second. It's not hard to build followers with multiple accounts.

The benefit of buying a twitter account would be the fact that you get start your twitter campaign without having to gather followers first, this is of course if the account HAS followers.

I can't see buying a twitter account with NO followers, strictly for the name, if THAT'S what the OP is talking about. As in @Pepsi and trying to sell it to the Pepsi Cola Company? That's just funny.

      You're joking right?

Anyone can download the FREE version of Tweet Attacks and build their own followers...

And if they WERE going to spend 100 dollars for your account, they could just spend an extra 27 dollars and buy the PRO version of the software for 127, which would let them do a LOT more than get followers.. LOL

The free version allows use of 5 accounts. So say they have 5 accounts, build them up to 5,000 followers on each one - They are now at 25k followers (10k more than what you are trying to sell) and it didn't cost them a penny.

So yeah, your post doesnt make any sense..

I've created Twitter accounts for websites I've sold and gave the buyer the Twitter acct along with the website. That's fairly common.

I created a twitter account once just as part of a company that changed it's name that I was a part of and didn't think twice about it.

Wasn't long after that the owners of the company offered me a price for it and I did the transfer.

Obviously you've never used Tweet Attacks. Or maybe you have, and you just have no idea what you're doing. Either way, you're wrong.. lol

I probably have around 800,000 REAL targeted followers between all of my accounts right now.

And NONE of those are from those stupid "follow back" groups.

If you're gonna talk bad about a program, at least do some research first so you can back up your claims.

It's all about how you use it. Its only as good as the person setting it up..

Oh and none of mine are from "follow back" either, FYI
      I have TweetAttacks Lite.
The most of people that will follow are from follow back, if you unfollow that people the followers will go out.

If so, thats because you are setting it up to follow those people.

Just trust me on this. I've had TA PRO and TA AC for like 2 years now.

I'm sure there are plenty of other TA users who will agree with me on this.

I don't post on threads unless I have experience in the subject. I know what I'm talking about here.

And as for your 2nd claim, that isn't true either..

It might be true when you are following people from those "follow back" teams, but its not the way I do it..

I don't care if they followed me back or not. They STILL get unfollowed after 2 days. And my followers count never drops. lol

My accounts are only following about 5% of the people who follow me. So yeah... haha

Anyway, I'm done here.. No point in arguing over something when I know I'm right.

If you have an account with targeted followers, then it has more value to it, especially if they read your tweets. I have over 7000 followers, but that was built up over time. I only follow 60 people. I'd never sell it, because those people are following me specifically.
