Is okay for a blog to diversify its topics hence niche?

I have discovered recently that for my blog I am truly writing for a male audience due to my writing style. I also write a variety of topics.

Basically the way I see it it kind of goes like this:

Male audience--> male personal development--> Fitness, men's health, Seducing woman/picking up girls, "Dude blogs and bro blogs"

So I thought yeah okay, I enjoy writing about these things, I can hence capture an audience of all of the above niches/topics.

Then a friend told me that way I would be having too many topics and confusing my readers. The readers themselves would be too diversified for me to really monetize eventually. He said I should focus on a single niche first, then when I am more stabilized, I can truly then branch out and diversify.

What do you guys think? Am I really aiming for the sky?

I can agree to a point with your friend. I would start with one main topic and get a ton of content out there for it, but there is nothing wrong with expanding into the other topics after you have tackled one. If you are building a list you can even cross promote the new topic/product to your list and get a second list for the new topic.

You are correct in thinking these all go together and many guys that are looking to build their fitness are also going to be looking for seduction/dating guides as well.

Why not use Wordpress multi-site to create multiple blogs (one for each niche), build a separate list for each of them, and cross promote them across each blog.

    examples: example.com (your main site) then health.example.com, fitness.example.com dating.example.com

Reatin your brand, utilise your existing readers, and build a list for each niche

Very good advice........there are ways to do what you are trying to do and target the entire audience.

Thanks for the advice guys. I don't think I would create multiple blogs for now. I just want to manage one.

After much reflection I realized that I am actually focusing on one. I am writing mostly about male personal development in general, focusing on success and character development.

So I guess in a way, I am writing that niche+humour on the side. Lol. We will see how it goes
