MLK Jr. Day...Do You Have It Off? Will You Be Here All Day?

I totally forgot that Monday was a national holiday until Thursday morning when I received an email from my boss telling everyone to have a nice 3-day weekend. No disrespect to the late Rev. King, it has just been super-busy and I haven't even thought about it. Plus, all the news seems to be "Inauguration!"

I was super-thrilled because I thought, "an entire day to work on my IM business! What a treat!"

Then I called my wife.

"Yay," she said! You can go to Gymboree with us and videotape Annabel's first class! Then we can do some shopping. You need to buy some new jeans. Also, later that day we need to take Daniel to get a haircut and we can all go to Carrabbas for dinner."

I realize that I have become obsessed with my IM biz and dedicate every amount of free time that I can muster to it. Do you ever take a day off?

Are you going to be resting on MLK Jr. day or typing away at your keyboard?

  • I am off and yes I will be working all day on my blogs and IM..I wouldnt want to be doing anything else!
  • I am off every day, because I do IM full time.

    But, now that I think about it, even when I worked for others I may have
    been "off" every day, too.

    Your message is a great reminder to not only take advantage of extra time, but to also keep some balance in our lives.

  • When I worked at a job, they never gave us this day off. Their lack of acknowledgment for this day has always appalled me, but I just used my personal day or sick day to get the day off. No biggie.

    • Personally, right now I'm not fond of holidays. I hate waiting,relaxing, etc. when there's still work to be done on my end (there's still some issues that need to be addressed, lol)

      But then again, even after I get my first sale I don't think I'll be able to stop because I won't want the conversions to, not even for a nanosecond :p

      But to answer your original question, I will be right here workin' and lurkin'

    • Oh how I miss those! They robbed us of our last 4 day and promised they'd make it up before we got here...of course, they never did

  • My son is out of school but, as for my job, people don't get sick on a schedule so I've got to be there, making sure their medical records get to where they need to go. We're a 24/7/365 operation although the IT staff does get some vacation days.
  • I asked for the day off to drive up to Arizona,But never went there. I've decided to spend time with my family and forget about Network marketing and my business for a day.I feel like a kid again having a hooky day off.lol
