Permission Settings For WP Install

Hello, I know for experienced people this is a no-brainer, but I always get stumped with this.

Everyone is so helpful here.

What files, or folders, do I need to change the permission settings to change the permalink and htaccess file, and also make my theme editor .php files editable.

And, what permission settings?

Thanks you if any one knows this by the back of their hand...

You'll need to chmod the .htaccess and the theme editor .php files to 666.

    Or read/write read/write read/write

Depending on you ftp program - it could ask either way. That's makes the files writable. I'd personally change the .htaccess back to 644 (or read/write read read) after the permalinks are made.

This is assuming you have a Unix server - if you've got a Windoze server, you are on your own...
