Are you overwhelmed or frustrated with information overload?

Hello Warriors - Today I wanted to share with you something that I greatly struggled with when I first started.

I'm a strong believer in sharing one's experiences in order to teach the newcomers how not to make the same mistakes.

Internet marketing is definitely no walk in the park. When I first started with IM I thought to me "This looks too easy - All I have to do is create a site, drive traffic to it, sell a product and the money will start to pour in."

That was a huge slap in the face!!!

To begin with I didn't even know what to do with my domain name. The only thing I did know was how to purchase one.

I had never heard of a hosting company let alone what it did.

To make a long story short I finally figured it all out. (Took me about 3 month)

Once I had created my first website - I thought to myself "traffic should be the easy part."

Another slap in the face!!!

I mean sure I was getting 1 to 2 visitors every other day (if you can even call that traffic)

After much reading, downloading, creating, changing, watching, and even purchasing tons of products - I finally figured out I was Suffering from I-N-F-O-R-M-A-T-I-O-N O-V-E-R L-O-A-D It was driving my insane!!! (To the point of quitting...)

Finally, after downloading my final eBook - I received a free gift that allowed me a free one on one phone conversation or email with a very successful IM.

I took a chance and gave him a call - to my surprise he answered.

Right away I started bombarding him with all the traffic techniques I was using and weren't working...

He took a deep breathe and said "WOW - your suffering from information overload."

We both laughed and he ended our conversation with this - He said:

"You only need to get good at 2 or 3 traffic techniques. Stop trying to do all of them at once - you're just setting yourself up for failure."

Then he went on saying "pick the one traffic technique that most interests you and master the technique to the fullest.

Spend about 2 to 4 weeks learning, testing, and implementing your traffic technique."

He then continued and said "once you have mastered your first traffic technique to the fullest and you're getting the results you want - move on to the next and repeat the strategy."

Wouldn't you know it - It worked like a charm?

So with that being said for those of you struggling with information overload - take a step back - analyze where you're at in this moment in time and if you struggling with something make it your goal to only focus on that particular thing and master it.

Here's a quick way to help you get started: I combined Brain Tracy's method of success with my traffic generating techniques - Works like a charm...

Great post Mauricio, that little list of steps to take at the end should come in handy for a lot of people who are bouncing around from method to method and suffering from information overload.

Like you said one of the worst consequences of suffering from information overload is the fact that people tend to try and implement too many methods at once. It's like the old saying "The man who chases two rabbits, catches neither."

Mastering a skill set is also very important. If I had to add anything to that list it would be that when a person master's a skill set it should not necessarily be the one that will make them the most money but be one that has the most long term viability and will always be useful.
