warriors....

I have reached rock bottom and below , i'm now in debt for almost 8k
and a few months i thought i have reached the lowest point and could only get up from there ... boy was i wrong...
In case you are wondering how i managed to get this deep into it...
i made all the wrong decisions ... thinking i was smart and i would show the world ( my family ) i could make us rich with the internet.
i wasted money on useless domainnames, spend money on Ebooks,
got scammed out of a few hundreds, etc. etc.
I think i have come to a point where i have to admit i'm not ready for IM, since i have no clue what i'm doing..
And maybe, just maybe should have spend the money on tutoring and getting a mentor.

Let this post be a lesson to everyone who is thinking and dreaming of making it online... it is really hard and the temptations of spending more money then you have is huge..

If you think you have brilliant ideas.. sit down for a minute and think and look them over again... it could save you a lot.

i'm not ashamed to say i'm stupid regarding IM.. and if i could do it again, i would talk to someone experienced before i do something.
And in all honesty i have no clue where i am going from here.

for all you starters.. i wish you good luck and god speed

I tend to not respond on these type of threads, but I couldn't help
myself. You do not need to spend money in order to make money
      on the internet.
Did you have any idea of what you wanted
to pursue as in affiliate marketing, product creation, etc? It's wise to
have a business plan before even acting on anything.

And about your domains... Yes, I think we're all guilty of buying domains
that we never use... But as you progress in your online career, you will be
able to hold back from buying domains unless you truly need them. This
is definitely a learning curve for you, not a point of failure or no return.

Hell, I've heard of people making a few hundred dollars just spending $20
dollars on a Warrior For Hire ad (yes, on this forum) and selling a service
that was in need. There is no time to think about what you SHOULD have
done... Take this on as a learning experience and progress to the next step
that will actually start making you some money.

      Dedicated To Mutual Success,

      Jake Gray

Sorry to hear that bud. I coach many newbies to success and there is a common occurance among them. When you start out as we all do we are suckered into buying all the different ebooks from this guru and that guru and they have ended up bouncing around from one new fangled trick to the next.

Most of what you will buy is just 1 persons technique that is already out there but they have just put their own spin on it. 9 times out of 10 it aint an original concept.

Here is what to do, it dont even take that long until you are earning... (2-3 weeks max)

Go back to the basics and DO THEM WELL !!!!!!

There is no point in trying to re-invent the wheel.

Keyword research is where most fall short, how many times have you ranked for a particular KW only to find that there is little to no traffic to be had when you DO arrive at page 1 ? It all starts with a decent KW. This is the foundation on which you will put a lot of effort into building and ranking your site for and if it's no good from the start then you are setting yourself up for certain failure from the very onset.

Secondly, many newcomers jump straight into the super saturated markets like dating, getting your ex back, product review sites etc. There are dollars to be made still in these niches but believe me when I say that there are far easier niches you can tackle that will get you earning some $$$ faster.

Social/Non-Commercial type keywords: Go for keywords that have a social or non commercial nature to them, think funny stuff, facebook things, medical conditions, ufo's, hollow earth, political etc etc and you will not only find they are super easy to rank for, they have a lot more traffic as well. It's traffic that has good clickthroughs on cpa banners and adsense as well.

Dont quit my friend, re-group and take this advice if you want to and it WILL work for you.

Like I saw someone else mention in a reply here, everything that you need to know is always out there for free. It's just that we get sucked into this pattern of buying info from the onset.

        Good luck

          Chin up.

Start paying back the debt through 'the real world' jobs. Take this as a lesson learn't. It's easy to get carried away with domaining and the rest. I've spent money i won't recover on domains, but who knows? Someone might want it one day.

Work with a small budget for starters, you can make something rather decent with a low budget. I think it's easy to spend online, so make the money work correctly, learn more, come back when you feel you are ready.

Don't give up, if you need a break then do it, but the opportunity will exist in the future and you will be more prepared.

          Good luck

I don't know what in the world you spent your money on, but the good thing is that it shows you are ready to do just about anything to make money in this biz. One thing I would like to share is something that I think a lot of newbies are misunderstanding when it come to keywords.

You need to find keywords BEFORE you find a product. A lot of people find a product to sell well and then try to find keywords around that product to try and rank for. While this isn't that bad of a way to succeed, it's definitely not a great way to start.

First do some MAJOR keyword research. TRUST ME THAT WILL SAVE YOU A LOT MORE TIME AND MONEY IN THE FUTURE THAN YOU THINK! Then once you find easy keywords to rank for, then you can find products that "convert well" to put in front of those articles or website content that you are building.

I find it easier that way. I feel bad for you, cuz it definitely shows you have the heart to do this but things just haven't gone your way. But it is hard especially when you get 50 emails a day telling you about WSO of the day and how this was the BEST WSO EVER!

One thing you need to do (even though WSO's sound good) is clear yourself off EVERYONES list and FOCUS on 1 way of income and CONCENTRATE on that till you are successful. Try blogging to stear away from any more bills.

Sadly there are affiliates that will sell just about anything on here and ClickBank just to make a buck. Nothing they share is guaranteed to make you money so it is ultimately up to you to succeed and stop buying worthless "push-button" software crap or what ever it is your buying and start doing the work yourself till you start making the money to invest into your business.

          Good Luck.

Sorry to hear your story dude. I am fairly new too. But i believe in what the other poster wrote, you donet have to spend money to make money, well not alot. Try starting again, take you time, you're not going to get rich over night, grow your business organically.

    Best of luck

    Sorry to hear about it!

It is sad but it happens a lot more than people think, you are just one of the few that came back to the forum to post about it.

There are a lot of scams out there and unfortunately a lot of people trying to make money from simply selling make money products, which is completely unethical in my opinion. - It only helps the seller make money because the tips usually don't work.

As to where you need to go now, spend some time in the forums, don't buy any more IM products, just find out as much as you can about a certain area of IM that takes your fancy and go from there in a few weeks.

Try and do it all at a low cost, you don't generally need a mentor or an ebook to show you the ropes, you will learn enough on Google and this forum to make your way to profit.

Avoid temptation and get into the business mindset. Don't treat this as a hobby or a magical get rich scheme, treat it as a business.

Hey OP keep your head up, things will get better if you stick with a good fundamental idea. I would agree that don't think there is a magic bullet in the next IM package you see. With that said there is value in some of these products but you might have to ponder a little to figure out exactly how to extract value from what you already know.

Totally know the feeling - I was in over 20k at one point, but I am so glad I didn't quit. If I had known then what I know now, I would've been able to get started for less than $30 a month and be where I am today - but hey, it's all good... now that I am on this side, looking back.

I hope to be more and more successful and with that drive and passion I know I can do it! so why don`t you get motivated and try try again!

    Hi ReallyRanting,

Would you be willing to take a few steps more. If so Let's make a few bucks together. No promises here except if you will follow a few steps over the next month or so you will make a few bucks in Internet Marketing. If you say yes then I'll post back these steps here after you do step one I'll give step two etc.

George Wright, P.S. This may or may not be HUGE for you, I know it has been to some but not to all. If you're game, lets go. This will take time but it will make you a few bucks. P.P.S. The reason I want to help you make just a few bucks is because I know that the first few are the hardest, after that you can ramp it up as much as you want to (here comes the 4 letter dirty word) Work.

That's the spirit George. I take my hat off to you Sir.

As I was reading the posts below the opening post, I was thinking along the same lines as you, thinking, 'what can I do to offer this guy to get him on the upward path once more and thinking more positively about the future'?

Really Ranting, take George up on his kind offer. He's one of the most experienced guys on this forum.

If anyone can get you moving in the right direction, it's George Wright. And I know for sure he'll play totally fair by you. That much is a given.

Believe it or not there are more than a few of us on this forum who enjoy helping others simply for the pleasure of committing such random acts of kindness. Unfortunately we can't help everybody in this situation. A pity.

If you ever need any encouragement to keep you on the straight and narrow or just a firm boot in the right direction without it costing you a single penny by all means...

...do feel welcome to make contact.

Remind me of this thread and I too will bend over backwards to help you if I can... if it's within my ability to do so.

Don't whatever you do give up!

Fair enough, you've lost 8k. Not an insurmountable amount of money. Easily recoverable with the right attitude and one working strategy plan.

You haven't let your family down.

Your heart was in the right place.

You tried. Although maybe now you think or feel that you've failed?

      Piffle.

You're just one step closer to achieving the success you dream of. Do keep your dreams alive. Don't allow this situation to get to you. With the right people behind you, this situation can be remedied. Just have faith in yourself and realign your priorities.

The only failure is when you completely and utterly give up and I didn't sense that in your original post. What I saw and interpreted was a cry for help.

If you need help, just ask for it.

Guaranteed on this forum, one or two trusted Warriors will be more than willing to help you IF you want to shake the dust off your feet and get moving once again.

Please feel welcome to write to me if ever you feel so inclined or need some extra encouragement.

      Kindest regards,

    Hey Jurrie,

Believe it or not you are starting to be successful!

I know it sounds crazy right?

I am saying this when you have just said that you are xxxx amount in debt but TRULY you are!

    I will tell you why....

No matter how long it has taken you to learn the lesson you have learnt it - or at this level of "pain" you will be close to learning it.

Pick yourself up and shake it off - you CAN still be successful it is ALL a learning curve.

As someone else said you DO NOT need to but any IM product to make money - of course that means that you will have to work really hard but so be it!

I would take George's kind offer with both hands and really knuckle down and then take each success as a step up!

Yes you are right on all accounts, it is tough etc... but don't come this far and give up!

    GO FOR IT!

    Good luck mate,

      Hi Jurrie,

Feel for you, so prayers there first for a turn-around. And second, if you can post or PM / email, etc. a list of what you purchased (like ebooks / courses, etc), happy to take a look to see if there's a way to take action steps with them and get you moving ahead, too.

Many times, lots of IM materials DO work, you just have to take action steps and maybe have help along the way, at least to get you started. No shame in that, either. We've all been there, done that to learn the ropes at some points along the way.

      Here's to your success!

    Hi All,

Step 1. I asked Jurrie to do Via PM. I asked ReallyRanting to change their User ID to a real name.
    .
That was done, thank you Jurrie.

After that arrangements were made to make Jurrie a War Room member.

Look at the progress just for taking action with this thread.

    1. Jurrie has a Real Name that we can all get to know and trust as He/She? (Sorry I don't know if you are a lady or a gentleman Jurrie.) Adds value to the WF.

    2. Jurrie is now a WarRoom Member.

    Now for Step 3. Jurrie....

Spend a couple of days looking around in the WarRoom. Spend most of your time reading EVERYTHING by Allen Says. This will open your eyes as to what the spirit of the Warrior Forum really is. You will find that many things that are ranted about on the Main Forum are really sound IM practices when used in the right way.

By the way, in the War Room, Allen has a special area called "My thoughts," or something close to that, If you don't find it let us know and someone will give you a direct link.

    Till Next time,

      George Wright
It's great of you George (and the others involved) in allowing Jurrie access to the War Room.

In the beginning I spent a lot of money online like you. I think that everyone makes this mistake (more or less) before learning how to follow a smart business plan instead of giving shots in the dark.

You should learn how to make money online without spending money. Create Squidoo lenses and Blogger blogs to begin with. You will make some money out of this practice if you are serious. You should promote in-demand affiliate products and post your links everywhere.

    Take care!

Aside from domains, the most I ever spent on learning IM was $30 for one book. Why? Because that book looked promising and it was. Never-EVER buy another book. Most IM books have the same information over and over again. So if one didn't work for you, the other probably won't. IM is all about repeating a cycle.

What you should have done is buy just one domain and start from there. If you can't make it with one domain, why buy a bunch of them? You don't even need to do that. According to Blogging to the Bank (this isn't the book I bought, but the reviews give away enough info) you can make money via a BlogSpot blog, and they don't cost anything.

Start with the small methods to see if you have a knack for it. At this point, I don't care how good a book seems, don't buy it! You can get enough good info here at WF within a few hours without spending a dime.

I see a lot of people go through this, but I can't really understand why. Never spend money, never get super excited about all the money you can make, until you start seeing money come in.

My dad once said something to me. He told me that no matter how good something is, never leave your job until you can sustainably make enough to surpass (or parallel) that job's earnings. I listened to him, and now I am on path to make about 80-90K this year.

For right now, concentrate on something you can do.

Every success starts at where you are now.

If you went to college then you'll start with
a debt to pay back. Learning IM takes money
paid in mistakes and normal business loss.

Not every product for Apple was a success
and at one time they fired their genius.

So you're not alone and about every marketer
started by trying things that didn't work for
them. Like Thomas Edison you can say you
know XX things that didn't work.

There is no excuse for anyone scamming you
    though--that is inexcusable.

    Remain positive.

A very brave thing you have done Jurrie, and highly positive feedback, great stuff! Trouble really is we complicate this business, you are not the only one.

I think the mistake you made was starting IM with a lot of money and most probably looking for the quickest and easiest way to make it, BIG mistake. I seriously think it's rather better to start this business when you are at real rock bottom, that way, you have no choice but to take time and learn by researching most of the free stuff or cost effective ways that work.

The formula is very simple and yet many of us fail ==> Good old niche research, create a blog, post good content with good keywords, capture leads or insert a sig file with links to your affiliate products, I would capture leads before sending them to my affiliate link, finally drive massive traffic to your blog, I mean making money online can't get any simpler than this!

Oh hang on? But why do we fail??

Your story remind me of my own one. That was back in 2009 and I was in debt because I was too eager to find the quick get rich formula.

Well, I know now that, it doesn't exist.. May be my breakthrough came when I stopped learning and started taking action.

It was only baby steps. Like, learning to use Wordpress, keyword research etc.

Then money started showing up. From adsense, fiverr.com and affiliate commissions.

But now looking back, I know what made it happen. It was my change of Mindset.

Because, I hit rock bottom, I had nothing to lose and that kind of gave me strength. I just told myself. Give it your best shot.

So, all I want to say is... start taking action. Go make a few gigs on fiverr.com , introduce a service like article writing, research etc.

I know you will make back all the money you lost. Hope you come back and post your success story shortly.

    Hi Jurri,

Just wanted to let you know it is possible to get out and stay out of debt. Just taking it from the getting out of your debt POV I'll share with you how my husband and I did so. It took time but we were able to buy a house this year and we had zero debt when we did it.

Well... um... we do have car loan, but I am thinking you're talking about credit debt so here's what happened to us.

I invested about $5 k in IM coaching. 2 different coaching courses. One I was able to get a refund and the other was a loss. On top of this my husband became disabled and we were using our credit cards for a few months until disability kicked in.

We had about 11k of debt.

What we did was we stopped paying our creditors. I know, it's no fun to take this route, but when you are almost homeless, and your friends are helping you with food, I think it's something that has to be done, so that is what we did.

After about 6 months to a year, we started to negotiate with our creditors. We would call one of them up and say, "We've got $900.00 to pay off some of our debt. If you will accept it as payment in full, we'll give it to you. If not, we'll give it to the next creditor who will."

This creditor we owed $2400.00 to and they accepted the $900.00. We would save our money and then call another creditor and do the same thing. Eventually we paid off all of our creditors. Once we did that we started to rebuild our credit.

Over the past 3 years we would buy something, then imediately pay it off. We never purchased anything that we couldn't afford to pay off by the end of the month. Our credit slowly improved and Sept. of this year we purchased a house.

Okay, so... don't stress over your mistakes. You know the average person is about 7k in CC debt. So, you're not alone. And, that once coaching course I took that I didn't get a refund for... I was so embarrased about getting scammed like I was. It still hurts to think about it, but I did get past it.

I too have invested in far too many domains and started way too many blogs. Now I'm focused on ONE blog, ONE goal.

I wish you the best of success,

This is one of those awe inspiring threads that deserves commendations.

George, may we all hope to extend such a courtesy to others, as this forum has "raised the hairs" on the back of my neck a few times; this thread being one of them!

You Sir are awesome for rekindling Jurrie's spirits and all whom may find encouragement from your generous acts... as did I.

Jurrie - First of all, I commend your courage in facing your humility. I;myself have questioned my efforts, and have on more then one occasion felt I was letting my wife and kids down also.

I have a saying; "Humility is a sharp tool and a great teacher, once the embarrassment wears off!"

-Meaning, one of the greatest stepping stones in reaching success can often be found shortly after acknowledging or admitting ones mistakes or in conquering our greatest fears.

I believe, if you follow the advice given and use the tools you already have along with the endless knowledge and 'golden' nuggets found within the War Room, I am confident things will start turning around for you.

I am not privileged to know what methods you are using to build your business model (?), but if it centers around affiliate marketing, I was just given a link to a website that offers "instant commissions" paid directly to your PayPal account. There's no fee to join, it's 100% Free.

The site is iDavi.com (*Definitely NOT an affiliate link) -they have over 3,000+ digital products you can promote for free. Every sale you make, your commission is paid instantly to your PayPal account.

Note: When you get to the site, scroll to the bottom of the page, in the 2nd column (of the footer) you'll see the "Affiliates" information. Again, registration is free, and once you register, and confirm, you can start earning straight away.

*If this interferes with George's plan for you, please ignore. I just thought the instant payouts might help you or someone else in a similar situation.

I Wish You All the Best,

    Art

PS- Don't buy anything you don't need! -There are plenty of free or inexpensive alternatives out there.

You got some really good advice above, so I don't have to say anything new - just don't give up if you see yourself in IM.

I started from zero, just making money with free blogs, so you really don't need a money to make some money when it comes to IM.

    All best and good luck!

Sorry to hear your story, but I'm sure you'll be back on top before to long.

    For the Newbs....

You don't need to have much money at all to start successfully making money online. Spend sometime in this forum absorbing all the FREE information provided, and if you have questions, ask away.

Then start experimenting, that's really the best way to learn Internet Marketing. Focus on one project or site at a time, and make sure you keep your spending budget at a minimum until you start making some sales and get something working for you.

Do Not even start PPC and other paid methods of advertising until you think you know what you're doing. Then when you start, start off by using FREE voucher credits and get a little experience under your belt.

Just coming from my very own experience

That's tough, and I know the way that you are feeling. I have hit rock bottom a few times myself (not just on the internet mind you). Keep this in mind though: You are still going to wake up tomorrow. You're still alive, and losing money won't land you in jail. You have a chance to change this crap. It's what keeps me going everyday at least. It could always be worse.

Dude, don't give up. Making money online is EASY, seriously. I was relatively new to affiliate marketing earlier this year and after learning a crap load of stuff, i started putting it in to action and was earning money pretty fast.

You should think about doing Amazon affiliate websites, they're easy to make, the products you can promote are endless and not saturated. You find a product, make a website, use web 2.0, article directories, blog posts and such to garner backlinks and before you know it you'll see the first dollar in your Amazon account.

Seriously, it doesn't HAVE to be hard. It can be really easy.

I'm glad you found something to focus on, Jurie. I think that's the hardest part for most everyone: choosing ONE main thing. This forum and the internet in general can be overwhelming because there are so many ideas and they all sound good on the surface. So we read and read and read, start one thing, then another, then another, and things don't get finished. FOCUS will help cure that.

I'm writing what I know, as I also read loads of good ideas and start too many projects. But when I (or you or anyone reading this) actually stay focused, that's when results happen. Make it like a task if necessary: vow to spend 1 hr/2 hrs/whatever working on just your main thing, then the rest of the day is for whatever you like.
