I've been working on my site, very slowly, for a little less than a year now. I get about 150-200 views a day, anywhere from 0 to 10 hops a day, and make about $100 a month in affiliate sales. I am working on a free ebook, as soon as it is finished I will be adding an opt-in. Any suggestions are welcomed, the link is in my signature. Thanks everyone!

Hi Brit, I replied to you here because I happened to see your question there first; sorry. And I'll post a few more thoughts over the next day or so, when I have more time. Nice to "meet" you, and good luck with your blog.

I would be working on building your list. Once you have your free ebook and you are ready to start building you need to set up your autoresponder to promote the product and give good content to your list. If you were a member of the war room there are about a dozen good guides in there to help you build your autoresponder series, but since you are not you may have to spend the money on a WSO.

Just make sure you are building a lasting relationship and not just promoting the product through your list.

Alexa-Thank you for the thoughtful response on the other thread. It is nice to "meet" you as well. Although I have been reading many of your post and feel like we have already "met"! I totally agree that I need to be building a list. In the beginning I was just ignorant, took me days to figure out how to post a picture on my blog, much less get an autoresponder going. Once I had things figured out, I decided to try a free auto-responder. This was a big mistake, considering it just disappeared one day. I was smart enough to copy the emails that I had at the time (about 60) before it disappeared. I am writing a small ebook to give away as my incentive for people to sign up. My thought process was that I should not sign up with aweber until I had something good to give out. The list I was building in the beginning did not seem very successful, and I think the problem was that I wasn't offering anything of great quality.

I would love to hear your thoughts about the little things that I could do to improve the blog. I am very much a beginner; I only used the computer for email until I started this blog! Recently I posted about getting more click throughs and someone suggested having the viewers go straight to the review page. So, I decided to try using the review page as a sticky post, was this a mistake?? It has only been like this for a couple of days, so I have not determined if it is helping or not. I am a little concerned it will make the visitors not trust me. Thanks for any and all advice you have time to give me!

Any suggestions from others are welcome as well! Thanks.

        Hi Brit,

First of all....cute kid! Love the hat!

Your site..yea...header is too big, font could be better..yada yada...but I wouldn't change a thing! Perfect as it is because if it was by choice or chance it was clearly put together by someone that is passionate about the subject matter. That's why you're making some money and traffic will increase as content does.

It's refreshing to see a site that's not full of crappy spun articles so stuffed with keywords that it's hard to read a sentence without getting a headache or panic attack. I know we're here to make money, for some of us to make a living, but we forget that the information we share is supposed to be for people. What we end up with is a massive amount of information written for the pleasure of the search engines. It's almost as if the hope is that the information we provide is so pathetic that the site visitor is almost forced to click on on adsense ad in the hopes of finding something better. However, they are likely to find much of the same. But I digress....great site!

Thanks for the kind words about my site. The blog seems passionate because it is. I don't think I could do something I was not passionate about, but I would like to be sincere and still make some money along the way! So anything that I should change, I would love to hear. I don't like the font either, but I honestly don't know how to change it. Thanks again.

If you want to "dress up" the site, wordpress has a boatload of options.
I thought I knew lots about wordpress but there's a TON you do with it to change the appearance. vtc(dot)com has a great tutorial called wordpress for designers, it's worth the 30 bucks. But that's the only course from them that I would recommend. I've been through a few others and fell asleep. Also it's a Canadian outfit, and no offense to ANYONE but be prepared to here ABOOT a lot!
