Thinking about getting into selling domains as a bit of extra cash, any tips?

Hey,

I am thinking of purchasing a few domains in the hopes of selling them for more sometime in the future as a bit of extra cash, is there anything important which I should know?

Also is there any way to go about the domains or is it literally anything I think would be worth some money?

Thanks, any tips are greatly appreciated!

Note - I was thinking of buying an eBook about it, will the eBook provide me with some good information though?

I would do you keyword research and find domains in popular niches. After you buy your domains I would build simple sites on them, at least 10 pages and do some link building to those sites. Domains are much more valuable with higher page rank and links. You can could also check Go Daddy's expired domain auctions and buy domains with some age and PR also. Hope this helps.

Selling domains and websites are two different things, though obviously related. There are various strategies for selling domains without sites, such as searching for ones that local businesses might want. There are also tools that help you find domains that are about to expire. You can go to sites like Namecheap or GoDaddy and just see what keyword rich domains are available, or use a free tool like Bust-a-Name.

Please do lots of reading before you invest too much in domain names, or you will find yourself with an inventory of domains that the market just doesn't want or need. There are many things to consider in registering domains that you intend to sell. I can't tell you how many people have wasted hundreds, and thousands of dollars on what they thought were salable domains, that never sold. I highly recommend spending a lot of time at NamePros.com to learn the business.

There are many, many ways to sell domains for hundreds of dollars each that you registered for $8. But it's very, very easy to lose a lot of money if you don't understand the market.

What Gene isn't telling you is that his domain flipping report is one of the best pieces of information you can get on the topic.

It's straightforward, easy to follow, and it works. I barely put any effort into Gene's system and sold a domain for $300. Now that my membership site is running smoothly, domain flipping is something I'm going to be doing more of.
