Buying Aged/Old Domains

I am sick of my new domains getting filtered by google. Think i might just get backlink happy.. I have three review websites each with about 15 reviews on them plus various articles on the sites as well. Each of them has a few products doing well in the health and fitness niche.

So now I would like to try and buy an aged domain and take the 15 top products and add them to the aged domain..Of course i will have new unique reviews done for these products.

SO i am trying to find a good generic domain for these products. i just don't want to make any mistakes buying an aged domain.

I was going to try and get one from freshdrop.net.

Is there anything I need to be looking for before buying an aged domain? freshdrop.net. show you how many backlinks the site has...

Any help would be great appreciated

Thanks all
Paul

See how many monthly searches that exact domain key phrase has. Locally and globally. Older domains will be easier to rank. With SEO in mind, you might as well register the cream of the crop.

Here's what Matt Cutts says about domain age:

And you're going to believe everything that Matt Cutts has to say as gospel because he just want's to help you try and game the SERPs right? JMO (and lots of others) but don't believe everything he tells you He may want to help you optimize your site for the "visitors experience" but he's not going to help with trying to game Google's algorithims.

Age alone won't matter that much, but the age of the backlinks helps. Since you seem concerned with backlinks I'd assume you want PR? Be careful and check backlinks as PR can be faked. You mention freshdrop, dropped domains sometimes lose PR (depending on links pointing to inner pages). And even if the domain you buy isn't relevant you could do a redirect or just use it to link to your site like the BMR network.
