I have been taking action

Hi fellow warriors...

If anyone has the time or inclination, could they pop over to my squeeze page and take a look. I have taken a leap of faith by purchasing a fiverr clone and before buying any vps hosting (as suggested by fiverrscript) I wish to have my 'shop' propogated. Thereby not paying out when nothing is coming in...

I know fiverr clones are all over the place, with some making great headway. My site is speciffically for magicians and lovers of doing magic...all accessible along the lines of fiverr.

So Im hopeful its a specific niche (wierd, me calling it a niche...magic and performing has been my life for over 20 years)and will meet a specific need.( More confident than hopefull though)

I have in mind to drive traffic to it initially with forum posting, articles, fb ads and maybe google ads...not ratified that as yet.

Please dont opt in...Im not promoting it, and would just enjoy hearing what your thoughts are.

Thanks and gotta love this forum

The link

(Hope Im allowed to post that...Im not even lookng for a backlink...)

Regards

James

PS. Its just part of the stable of sites that I am in the process, of getting up of me bum to get out there. My main site is already gaining some attention, even though it just has a competition runing on it, and if William is reading...I havent forgotten TTPC...)

Just a couple thoughts...the video screenshot was really hard to read. I'm not sure what this page is all about. (I didn't watch the video, just going based on what I see). Also the "Register" with the $ makes me think it costs something. What am I registering for? You might want to add text there and entice them to sign-up....especially if they don't have computer speakers to hear the video, you don't want to lose them.

Maybe add a tagline in the empty space at the top that sums up what you are about and how you can benefit magicians in a sentence?

    Just some thoughts!! HTH!

I think the banner and video screen shot is too hard to read. In fact if it wasn't for Jenn's post about I wouldn't have realized it was a video -- thought it was just a banner.

Personally I'd calm down the images above the fold to make the page more readable and obvious at a glance.

The video is hard to tell its a video, I'd also get nice banners up that don't look like they've been stretched to fit the header spot. If you need help designing your page more pm me! Hope the best for your magic niche

Also, the video is really slow to load and since it pops up instead of just being able to view on the page, it takes even longer. I'd suggest a shorter in length video with a very clear image on the video so they know to click it to play the video (the play button was hard to see so if they aren't familiar with videos, they might not know).

The text down the left is a bit long. I'd break it up a bit more and use shorter sentences. Also consider bullet points for important parts.

You want people to look at the page and understand what it is you're offering them and why they should sign-up. Take a look at what you have now and see how you can better answer that so you can get more people to sign-up once they reach your page.

Don't think of it as a hard sell...think of it as directing them towards what they need to do on the page for you to be able to help them with this site! You need to direct them to sign-up so they can use the website, but if they get to the page and don't really know what to do, they are just going to leave.

Believe me, I'm probably one of the worst "sellers" out there but I've learned how to simply direct my website traffic to what I want them to do on the page. Specifically for a squeeze page like this, you'll lose them maybe forever if you don't get them on board with their name/email address right then.

    Best of luck!

    James,

Great that you are taking action.

    My thoughts:
    1) Your logo fills the banner ad. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I think it would be better if your logo was top left in the banner and not filling the whole thing.

    2) The rest of the site should be "branded" accordingly, using the same color scheme in footer, header, etc. I think the footer and header should extend all the way across the page.

I know you are probably on a very tight budget right now, but I think design elements are so important. Everyone is preaching content, but the look and feel are so very important. You can get this fixed for under $250 probably.

    3) I would tone down the graphics a bit... just my opinion... but the colors hurt my eyes.

    4) Use secondary feedback on the Register Now button. It will increase conversions.

    5) Don't talk about Fiverr. (Just my opinion.)

    6) For sure... don't link to them... and if you must... open up a SEPARATE window. Clicking that link takes your visitors OFF your page.

    7) Use "strategic" bolding in the body of your home page by bolding words here and there so that the eyes can "rest."

    8) Use a font like Tahoma on the headline. Bold it and make it MUCH bigger.

    9) As the others said... I could not tell that the image was a video. That needs to be fixed soon.

GREAT START! I am not trying to be critical, but you asked for feedback. You are doing something and that is great!

    Wish you well.

    • There's nothing wrong with wanting to be a magic marketplace but I'm completely stymied about what this has to do with Fiverr.

And please stop saying "eponymous Fiverr." eponymous means "named after someone" and unless you know a person named Fiverr, your usage is just wrong. One of my websites is CharleenLarson.com -- that's eponymous since Charleen Larson is my name.

Fiverr doesn't charge people to list their gigs. You're talking about charging everyone to list theirs, except for the first 100 to sign up.

And last, though this is strictly a personal peeve, websites that go on and on about what they're *going* to do drive me crazy. If I go to a site and it's not finished, I don't ever come back.

    Hi fluffy,
Thanks for your input and advice, re 'eponymous' Im sure my dad imbued me with an incorrect sense of words...anyway, Im in the process of redoing it, along the lines of the advice I have graciously been given. Re fiverr and charging, Ill take that on board also and change accordingly.

What I was trying to do re fiverr, was leverage what is known about them, many uniques and lots of traffic etc, have those that subscribe or register understand what that sleightz could effectively do for magic that fiverr has done for the general marketplace...

I think I made too much a mention of it though...

Re the full site...I have the script etc, and gaining some ideas around traffic generation (the magic 'niche' is very peculiar) and dont want to open up an empty shop...and pay for vps hosting when its empty...

Ill have to look at that also. Thanks for all your advice, it really (as said above) is appreciated.

Does this have a registration fee? I got confuse with the dollar sign used as S. And maybe you should try to use clearer fonts? I get you want to have an edgy feel to your site and video but you could make it with a bit clearer font.

There has been some good advice on here for you, and I hope that we are all helping. here as some things I thought might help.

    1) Just like others have said, don’t mention fivver you are sending traffic away from your page BEFORE they have opted in
    2) I think you could get to the point a lot sooner, remember you want to capture interest, and I was confused about what was being offered, or what you were expecting of me, and the only reason that I watched the whole video was because you asked us to. If I were a regular customer I probably wouldn’t have watched so long. (Remember a confused mind always say no, even if that no is to opting in)
    3) I wouldn’t really mention admin fees BEFORE they opt-in I know that you are mentioning it as a way to get them to opt-in quicker, but if it was me and I heard admin fees, I would just leave the page. (being confused and then having money mentioned is not a good thing)
    4) On the screen to your video you have “make money to from selling your magic” THAT should be your headline. That is absolutely clear on what your site is about.

    Things I did like
    1) I do like the graphics
    2) The layout is really nice and I found it simple, read headline, watch video, share video (I like that) and opt-in
    3) You really seem comfortable in front of the camera if that is you, and I really liked it.

    One final thing
What problem are you looking to solve?
I get the sense that you are looking to be kind of like eBay and be the middleman bringing together sellers and buyers, (and you get a small fee) am I right?
If so, I would focus on what problems do sellers have; Finding people to buy their products right?

And what problem do buyers have? Finding a product they want or will like.

As I watched your video again, I kept thinking about Dropbox.com the video they have on their site explaining their service. Have you seen it?
Here is the link www. dropbox.com
See how their video is little drawings. For your site, I was imagining a drawing of two stickmen one is a buyer, and the other is a customer. The buyer has a question mark above his head and you can explain how people wanting to sell their magic the main problem is finding people to buy,
Then there is a question mark above the other stickman (the buyer) and his problem is where to find the magic products he wants to buy, you can mention yea there are different sites out there where people can buy magic products, but they are too hard to find, they are in too many places, people (buyers) don’t want to spend all their time searching for the product they want, they want to just buy it. And sellers or creators of products don’t want to spend all their time placing ads everywhere, they just want to create or sell products
And you provide the solution for both buyer and sellers, having a place where the buyers know there are a lot of people who are looking to buy, and for sellers by having a ton of magic products in one place saving them from having to look for them all.
The tag line could be something like “Where buyers and sellers can meet...” or “Where everyone leaves happy..” and you have your two little stick men exchanging cash and both have little smiles on their faces.

I give you 100% permission to steal this idea. Lol

ThanksShane .Think I have seen the dropbox video. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've done some more work on it but more needs done. It's only to attract 50 magicians so that when 'the doors' open the site won't be empty...

    Thanks again

At long last... Finger out, action taken, Inge made and it's finally online.

It is using fiverrscripts clone script. I've got a few members since soft launch( waiving admin fees till later in January which may help propagate site with content, sonar least something is there).

It will take massive promotion but it is very niche specific.

I'll be tweaking it as I go but at least... Finally it's up and online...

Thanks for all the advice here.

    Gotta love this forum
