Clickbank Affiliates - would this put you off?

I recently decided upon a niche to enter, and found what looks like two decent products that attempt to solve the specific problem, either of which i could promote. It is a health niche.

Product A has high gravity and an optin on the sales page. Not so great, as i understand it.

Product B has low to middling gravity and no optin.

Both have sales pages that look professional and look to my amateur eyes as if they will convert. However, research online suggests to me that product B is a more in depth course than product A.

I felt happier with the idea of promoting product B and decided that i would go with it. Having purchased it and gone through it, it seems good.

I bought some books to educate myself on the niche, read them, and was just about to start building my site when i made a discovery.

Product B is available for illegal download online. So is product A.

I'm thinking that this must be a common problem for Clickbank affiliates selling information products.

I'm relatively new to this, so it is difficult for me to gauge to what extent this could have an impact on my ability to make sales, but it's obviously not good.

Would this put you off?

      Hi Eddie,

I think you'll find this thread, with its attached poll, a really interesting and helpful read. There's quite a lot of it, but when you have time to plough through it all, it does explain very clearly why so very few serious affiliates will promote anything with an opt-in on the sales page.

    Hi,

Almost everything you can think of is available for illegal download if you want it bad enough so no, that would not put me off. The people you are trying to help will be happy to pay for a solution, if not, you are not attracting your target market.

      I agree with mgreener.

Considering there may be thousands, if not millions, of sites and/or people selling similar, if not the same, products as yours; there are bound to be crooks offering illegal downloads. Don't, however, be concerned about this, instead, make sure your site/s and/or product/s you offer is/are a) legal b) offers value to your customer and c) is marketed correctly. If these points are followed, the sales should follow too.

From experience, it really didn't have an impact on me when I was an affiliate for some clickbank products.... I knew that some of those products were readily made available for some and for free, but you have to remember there are plenty of honest to goodness genuine customers for Clickbank... they would be the ones you'd be marketing to.

I prefer to go with clickbank products that do not have an optin, so I'd test out product B. As far as illegal copies online, you will find that with a lot of products. I doubt it really will affect sales because the people that would go for the illegal copies would have never bought the product anyway.

Interesting thoughts here about the crooks online.

I have to agree that there will always be those people who take the illegal route, and it shouldn't put us off doing legit Clickbank marketing.
