Ways to Generate Leads for Daily Deal Site

Hi All,

I started a niche daily deals site, and have been struggling with cost-effectively generating new email subscribers for my site. I'm in a specific niche (sports) and haven't been able to consistently drive new subscribers.

I've tried Commission Junction and a co-registration lead gen. as lead providers, but they have been hard to work with/inconsistent. When people find out about the idea, they love it - it's just getting the word out has been the issue.

Any ideas? Would love to work with other Warriors directly on this.

Thanks!

One thing that i have done lately is: I made a youtube video for a product that i was promoting then ordered a gig from fiverr witch promised to give me 1000 views.

I have posted my video for about 1 week and a few days now. Thus far i've gotten 1,595 views and 255 likes. I got only about 1100 views from the gig and the rest have been purely from you tube. I am now ranked second for my key word.

I used the gig to boast my rank, now i am getting daily leads from that video which is steadily growing.

I suggest you try that out.

With the video idea, would this be a person just talking about a product or sometime of footage, i.e. Sell Book on lamp shades, take video of the lamp shade etc?

Nicolas - Thanks, that's a good idea, but the keywords I;d be competing against are really tough, considering I'd be competing with big sports teams and big sports ticket reseller sites.

You need longer-tail keywords. "Baltimore Ravens" will get more competitive than "Baltimore Ravens Bootcamp" or "Training Session" or "Stadium Tickets."

I haven't tried this technique myself. But I have noticed some folks using zipcodes in long tail KWs. For instance, a zipcode for North Hollywood, California is "91605". Perhaps a version of your KW with a zipcode attached to the end of it might work. Just a thought.

        Thanks for the idea.

What I'm really looking for is suggestions for paid ways to get signups. I really had high hopes with CJ to drive tons of subscribers, but it didn't pan out. Any other ideas to find cost-per-lead solutions?

As for cost per lead, have you tried Adsense or Facebook?

Both could become very profitable if you target the right keywords.

Also, regarding the SEO side of this, I completely agree with the longer tail KW suggestions.

There are still plenty of great keywords with high search volumes and relatively low competition in this niche. Just because it is a competitive niche, doesn't mean you need to use brute force SEO to handle it, just some wise planning and keyword research and you will be able to generate a lot of traffic and leads in untapped corners.

cost effective ways are writing articles and keep on writing and syndicating them with link to your lead capture page... this works for any business... the best old school method.

So for getting those targeted email subscribers you need to take some actions and this start with by offering them some free stuffs or anything that is going to give a solution of their problem. Also participating in niche related forums on a regular basis can generate more leads for you.

Hi Hockeyroom28, I have a question for you. Are you building your list using a Landing page to capture your leads? and do you have an autoresponder like Aweber or getresponse so that you can continue to communicate and build a relationship with leads once you have them on your list? If not you should think about building a list that way you are in control.
