Where would you start?

Hey,

I've been a member of this forum for a while now, and have sold a couple of WSO'S (not the most succesfull but just about broke even with the $40 costs and copywrite)

I want to start a fresh and focus on one thing, so this is where i'd like to ask for some advice.

I'm not looking for the easiest, nor the biggest money maker - I'm just looking for something that is easy enough to learn and has a nice return for my time.

I'll list a few ideas I've had and you can let me know which one you'd pick, and why or if you have different ideas that's great! Feel free to throw me some links to products that could help out aswell (To avoid everyone pming my links for their products, I will NOT buy it if it's self-reffered by you or it's an affiliate link, thanks)

- Amazon sniper sites (Amazon review sites)
- List building in non marketing niches (Like dog toys etc)
- CPA with with PPC (I've got low funds so may not be the best idea)
- Adsense (I'm not too fond of this idea)
- Any others?!

I'd appreciate it if you could leave your feedback so I can narrow down what I want to focus on which may also help me stay motivated, as I lack in this a lot but want to learn.

Thank you,

Andy

First and foremost, you've probably already tried a lot of things. I've been there, and I can tell you that finding something "quick and easy" isn't going to solve your problem. You'll just find out that it's not as quick OR easy as you think (it never is) and you'll be right back where you started.

Instead, find something that you genuinely like to do, and that you can genuinely deliver real value in.

Take the "money" consideration out of it for a minute, and just think about how you could really help someone meet a need that's either going unfulfilled or less fulfilled than it should be right now.

It'll help to think about what people have paid you to do in the past, or have paid you compliments on at least.

Have a pen and a notepad handy, let your imagination run wild and jot down your ideas.

You will find that you don't lack as much as you think, and you'll find a lot more focus this way than if a bunch of strangers throw you some random ideas.

EXCELLENT advice here. Andy, read this one about 10 times... it'll save you so much time and frustration, it's unreal.

    Hey Andy,

Glad to hear you just about broke even on your first couple WSO's. (Profiting with those obviously comes down to what you sell - and plenty of people lose money on them.)

So you want something that's easy to learn - and a nice return for your time...

...well, I'd say that providing a service of some kind to other marketers right here on the forum would be the *fastest* way you could see a return on your time investment.

Faster than the ones you've listed, anyway. Even if it's something as simple as articles... after putting in the initial effort to establish yourself, you'll see a "return" much faster than with Amazon, Adense or CPA.

Colin Palfrey's "Becoming A Ghostwriter" course is excellent for this option... just search for either his name or the title in quotes right here on the forum.

About the whole affiliate link thing:

Lots of people pull that crap - but there's an easy way around it. When someone refers you to a link... look at it, and you'll know right away whether it's an affiliate link or not.

DON'T click on it if you don't want them to get a commission.

It'll either be in the format of

    "PRODUCTDOMAIN.COM/USERNAME"

    "PRODUCTDOMAIN.COM/SOME-WEIRD-STRING-OF-NUMBERS"

    or...

    "DOMAIN.COM/RECOMMENDS/PRODUCTNAME".

That last one is known as a redirect. In any of these cases, you can simply find out what the actual product is called... and Google it. You'll end up on the main product sales page - and the affiliate won't get a commission.

On the other hand, if you happen to click on what you believe to be an affiliate link... and THEN do what I mention above... the affiliate will still get a commission (because of 'cookies').

So if it's that much of an issue with you, I hope that helps.

Andy, I wish you the best of luck in finding just the right 'thing' for you... and I hope you see a return on your time investment soon.

Just realize that LOTS of people are doing nothing more than providing basic article writing services right here on the forum - and they're profiting. Food for thought.

    Take care,

    Jake

      Hey,

Thank you for taking some time to respond, you're right... I've tried a bunch of things, from facebook advertising to emailing smaller websites for media buys (Neither of which worked)

I currently do actually run a website, it's an incentive based website which pays my users to complete offers such as surveys or quizzes.

It's been open for around 6/7 months now and I've paid out over $7,000 , nearly at 3,000 members (95% Of which are inactive) and over 800,000 hits in total.

I do enjoy that, but I can't see how to expand my growth, there are some big players in the industry and I don't know how to compete...

I'm 17 and attend college so time is sometimes on the low point as I try to keep up with coursework and such...

      Thanks again for the advice!

      Hey Jake!

Thanks a lot for the advice - Providing a service seems like a great idea!

I used to sell Exact Match Domains in the warriors for hire section and did make a nice return on those, however I've tried to do it for myself recently when I was trying some amazon review sites and it's a lot lot harder then it used to be (Mainly because the tools I used do not work anymore!)

As for article writing - It seems extremely saturated and being 17 and still in education, I don't have good enough english skills and matury to sell people my articles, I wouldn't want to rip anyone off!

      Thanks again,

      Andy

Sounds like what you've been doing so far doesn't have a lot of "you" in it.

Just want to encourage you to see the value you have in yourself buddy, in your own eyes you might be "not good enough" but I can tell you that JUST AS YOU ARE what you have to offer is valuable to a lot more people than you think.

Don't discount yourself because of your age, I know of many people much younger than you who are madly successful.

You should connect with Sarah Cook of Raising CEO Kids, she's a great mentor to thousands of entrepreneurs under 18 and I'm sure she'd love to hear your story of what you've achieved so far. Let her know that Thad sent you, and share what you just shared here and I'm sure she'd be glad to help.

Thanks a lot for the confidence boost! I'll get that pen and paper and get writing! Really appreciate you taking time out of your day to help me.

I'll certainly send Sarah and email and will let her know you sent me,

      Thanks again!
