Amazon Associates Product Links

Hi Everyone,

Quick question. I would like to add a editors choice section to my website using amazon products.

This is a section where I recommend specific products. I would like to write a a review about the product and explain why I like and recommend the product.

Next I would like to add an image of the product and link the image directly to the product on amazon with my associate id attached.

I would also like to add a text link that says, "Click here to buy now"

I understand how to get links for amazon widgets and astores but not sure how to add a simply link to one single product.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Bill

Log in to your amazon account and look under "Links and Banners". Click on "Link to Any page" for instructions on creating your links.

If you aren't logged into your associates account you can get links from the product pages. Right at the top of the page you will find a link that says 'link to this page'. You can link to the products or categories. With the products you get 3 linking options, image, text and text and image. Choose, add your id and the code is there for your site.

I was under the impression you need to be signed in to see the Associate Stripe with the option to "Link to this page". I think Amazon agrees https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...text/main.html

When I'm looking at product pages I'm not logged in but the cookies tell Amazon it's me. I can see the associate stripe and use the page link options, but if I want to go into my account I need to login.

I find the link to this page option the easiest way to add links when I'm doing overviews of a product. I also text link a lot using the easy linker option. I add code to the footer of my blogs and then I just use the easy link code on the keywords that I want to link to. Don't have to go on amazon once the code is in your footer.

This is the simple format. replace ASIN with the ASIN number of the product and ASSOCIATEID with yours.

You can use Amazon for this:

    affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/network/build-links/individual/get-html.html?ie=UTF8&marketplace=amazon&asin=B0052GAC NM

You can also use your own html, similar to this:

    <a href="Amazon.com/Link" target="_blank">
    <img src="Site.com/Image" alt="Amazon Product Name" title="Amazon Product Name" /></a>

    <a href="Amazon.com/Link" target="_blank">Click here to buy now</a>

Another option is to use a wp plugin such as,
    wpzonbuilder.com

There is also a price comparison service that you can use to provide more than just Amazon links at,
    easycontentunits.com

Is this all I need for my link? My site is built on wordpress and I like to embed my links in my images and in text I create. I tested it and it works, I just want to make sure it has all the stuff I need for my affiliate credit.

[Test URL) I used the "r" instead of the "h" because I did not want it to link

    rttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PFKB8A/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=nightvisioncamcorder-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creati veASIN=B001PFKB8A

Am I missing anything that would keep me from getting my commission?

    Here is the full link:

      This is your link:

(Without the *** though. That's just so I could put it in the forum without actually creating a link_

The rest is the whole html.

You can highlight your text, click hyperlink and enter the above to create an affiliate link to the product.

If you are still having trouble, I will step by step you thru it on Skype and check the link on your site. I will PM you as I am not sure if you have PM privledges yet.

      If you use the short text version given above and shown here;
      http://www.amazon.com/dp/ASIN/?tag=ASSOCIATEID
it is absolutely essential to have your country code on the end or you will not get credit...for example if your associates ID is rbb than the id would have to be rbb-20.

Also think hard before making associate ID's with the product name. You are limited to 20 associate ID's. If you no longer want to share a product or the product changes, that associates ID works but is not really descriptive anymore.

If you use a site name - what happens if you sell that site?

So you may want to use things like your initials and add an "e" if you are selling electronics or "b" if you are selling beauty items etc.

I thought the limit was 100 associate ID's. Or do tracking ID's differ from associate ID's?

My bad. I seem to remember when I started I was limited to 20 Tracking ID's. But I don't see that in there now. So I either remember wrong or it was changed.

But awesome! I am going to add some more!

However, to the OP, I would think twice about about hundreds of tracking ID's by product name. You will be able to see the product when it is ordered anyway.

*I just saw in the help section that you can have up to 100 Tracking ID's and you can contact Customer Service for more.
