Tiffany Dow, Erica Stone & Mike McMillan Are SMART Marketers!

I've bought many WSOs and some sellers seem to believe that a purchase is an invitation to send me a long string of "buy this, buy this" offers. Many of the messages are supposed to be personalized - but the seller is simply copying an email provided by the product seller. There is one Warrior who sent at least two offers every day.

There are other Warriors who are much smarter - like Tiffany Dow, Erica Stone & Mike McMillan. Sure, they sell things but they also offer quality information. I've learned from every one of them and so, when they recommend something, I pay attention. The others - the spammers - I just quickly unsubscribe and never buy anything from them again.

There are other smart marketers on the Warrior forum:

* Chris Kent is a fountain of unique money-making ideas
* Jan Roos just sent his newest product to those of us who had bought his earlier one - very classy
* Justin Mandel has only sent emails about HIS product

There are other smart marketers and I don't mean to leave anyone out. I am just writing this because as a long time Net marketer, I'm hoping that this post might help other Warriors provide better service - and make more money!

I'd like to chime in on the above - I've known about Tiff now for years and just met Erica about a month ago. Don't know about Mike yet, but I'll be sure to look him up!

Tiff's book on eBook Empires is *the* bible for how to write one; it's tremendously done! And Erica gave me some superb ideas about promoting one's WSOs which really really helped me when I released my first (I'm up to #2!).

    Always love great recommendations.

I'd also like to add Janelle Kleppin - she's a Squidoo master and also a covert angel who is truly one of the bestest people one could hope to meet online.

    Thanks.

I've missed out on this because I never sent emails to people that bought WSOs from me - because I only asked them to sign up so I could send them updates and I don't feel right sending them anything else.

Now you're telling me that everyone else is using WSO sales email lists to market other stuff to and send other information to?

I would unsub if people sent me anything other than what I signed up for.

I guess this is how we find out what people want - there are obviously some people who WANT more emails than you tell them to expect.

Nonsense Andy, you've missed out on nothing. Everyone knows you're a good marketer and I've said it many times.

I'll say it again for good measure.

"Andy is a bloody good marketer that you can learn a huge amount from, I have personally and you wouldn't do badly to do so to, Thank you".

      So there. :p

"... everyone else is using WSO sales email lists to market other stuff to and send other information to?"

Andy, it's not 'everyone' but it's certainly the vast majority of Warriors. More than 75% in my personal experience.

There are several ways to look at this. I will only mention two.

One is that we sign up for their list to get updates on their products.

The other is with so many wso's being released now many of us are too busy to surf the wso thread looking for what we may be interested in. For this I rely on some, and i want to emphasize "some" of the marketers that i trust to let me know what has come out that is really good and related to the Niche I am interested in.

I do agree with you that it seems like at least 75% of the marketers are spamming their lists promoting multiple WSO's every day. These are the ones that I use an auto filter for and delete their emails without seeing them.

Marketers that only send me good WSO's and do not over do it, I open their emails.

I will sum it up like this. Marketing good products to me is okay but spamming me is not.

I love Erica's stuff and the emails that she does send out normally give some great tips and therefore give value. I also recieved a review copy of her latest WSO through the last email she sent her subsribers so I'm more than happy!

What do we class as a smart marketer?

Someone who makes you happy, or someone who brings in the most money?

Maybe someone who is able to bring in lots of money and also make you happy at the same time! Doesn't have to be an either/or situation, does it?

        Peace

I don't know, guess it depends on your definition of marketer.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer marketers like the OP mentioned: guys/gals who don't treat you like a piggy bank.

These guys might have the most loyal customers, which means they are a "smart" marketer with a more future proof business.

On the other hand, marketing is to bring in the most sales. What about someone who promotes cigars. Are they smart marketers when they only send you out offers once per week, even though they are promoting products that can give you cancer?

Or are they smart marketers because they make the most sales?

Guess it depends how you look at it.

Sadly but true, those are not the ones making the most money. I do give out good and helpful information but too much of it will only drive up your unsubscribe rate. Moreover, those guys are good product creators, and if you're not blessed with that, you'll find it difficult monetizing your list WITHOUT recommending good affiliate products.

Better to find a balance between the two extremes.
