Adding Google Analytics code to WP theme

I have a couple of sites that I would like to add Google Analytics code to for tracking as a test. These sites both use WP themes. Does anyone know where I put the code into those sites? Would it be under "Appearance" - "Themes" - "edit" ??

I generally paste the analytics in my footer.php .

Alternatively, you can use simple wordpress plugins like

WordPress › Google Analytics for WordPress « WordPress Plugins
WordPress › Google Analyticator « WordPress Plugins

I use the Google Analyticator plugin. It works and is easy to use.
