Where do I send all the traffic I get?

Hi all, I am new to the forum and hope to learn more about IM and share what I can to help anyone out. So far in my IM journey, I've gotten alot of information about marketing online and understand the basics of SEO and web 2.0 marketing.

My question is how to I actually build a site? I am not a coder and only know basic HTML. My guess is that everyone on this forum had to learn how to make up their page that they are going to drive traffic to. What do people recommend?

Is there any difference in building a page that you'll use for Ad Sense as apposed to a sales page?

What about "template" based editors like xsitepro?

I feel that if I can good at making sites, then I can put up multiple ones and drive traffic to them. What is the most effective way to make up a site?

Thanks in advance for all replies!

    Internet Hopeful,

I am going to be VERY opinionated here and say that you should decide on using WordPress for most of your websites.

It is not just a blog software, but a whole CMS (content management system)... and it is the choice of many, many internet marketers.

Sure there are other platforms out there, but WordPress is the best in my opinion... and i used to be hooked on another platform.

For marketers... there are so many useful free and low-cost plugins in the WordPress community.

Since you are starting out... you should use templates made for WordPress. There are many great free and paid ones out there.

Note: Make sure you use the version of WordPress that installs on your hosting account (server) - not the one that WordPress hosts for you.

Here is a good free resource for learning about WP: http://freewptraining.com/
I just Googled to find it. There are many more.

You can download the WordPress software at wordpress.org, but if you use a hosting company like HostGator you can use one of their "one-click installation" scripts. Just ask your hosting company and they may be able to help.

    Good luck.

Since you are new to the game you need one teacher and the guy for you is Chris Farrell. He is currently teaching a program called Chris Mentor Me. I would google that and see if it is still open.

If that is not an option, I would use optimized press for your theme when using wordpress. They have awesome tutorials to get you started.

Just a word of advice. You can end up spending a lot of time in here and not really be productive. Choose who you follow carefully and don't buy everything that blows by you.

Pick one mentor and stick with them until you achieve what you are looking for. Good luck to you. Dana

Remember, simple is good. Its much better to have a simple, well working site than having a complex one which doesnt work so well or is messy.
So i agree with above. Remember. Simple is good!

I would send your traffic to a squeeze page. Google squeeze page and there are probably some examples there.

You can create your own squeeze pages with simple templates and a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor for free.

Then you can build a list to your niche and promote to them. However, you will need to provide something of value to your list and build a reputation with them so that they don't just opt out immediately.

    Good luck.

One of the Warriors here sent me an email recently with a new product he released that contains 100+ video tutorials on all the basics, domain, setting DNS, using web editors, Wordpress, etc...

The total cost for it is $17 (one-time)

Before I post the raw link, the affiliate program is phenomenal in the sense it has 100's of sites recommended to build traffic, and promote both (this) product and others.

Respectively, this marketer was in fact a Godsend to me, as I was in the same predicament and knew absolutely nada about the "tech" side of this business 7 months ago.

The graphics are a bit cartoony, but I believe the "value" factor to newbies is HUGE.

With that said feel free to look at the offer (*again it's $17) and is (*NOT an affiliate link):

      http://www.meknowwordpress.com/

The affiliate program offers 100% commissions here:

      MeKnowWordPress.com - 100% Instant Payout Affiliate Program!

      I hope this helps!

      All the Best,
