Hello Warriors,

Does anybody know how many PR0 backlinks are needed to make 1 PR1 backlink, i.e. (? PR0 = 1 PR1)?

Similarly, (? PR1 = 1 PR2, ? PR2 = 1 PR3, ....)

It's not just about backlinks. It's about age, quality of backlinks, your content, etc. I don't think there's an exact amount. I could be wrong though. My PR always went up over time.

  • There is no exact number of back links, each link is different by the quality and its PR, so you can't manage your site to have PR1 by linking to some exact sites. The Page Rank is define by many other components. Besides this, if your mentioned formula would be true, Google will never inform us about the necessary number of back links to reach next level of PR

The actual pagerank of PR1 can be anything between PR 0.5 or PR 1.5 I have no clue how google rounds the actual numbers and of course keep in mind that the scale is logarithmic. So PR 1.5 can be 5 times more powerful than PR 0.5, which both show as PR1 in your toolbar.

Thus it might take you 20 PR 0.5 links or 2-3 PR 1.5 links. I repeat that both will show as PR1 on the toolbar. Of course it also depends how many outgoing links the page has. So it could take you 100 PR1 links from pages that each have over 100 outgoing links, or just 10 links from page that have less than 10 outgoing links.

You can't just say it takes 30 PR1 links to boost the site to PR2.

I think that I did not make myself clear. I have read once that 1 PR1 backlink to my website is worth 10 PR0 backlinks. As you go up the ladder, one PR backlink is worth tens of the lower PR.

Yap, I read it too but I don't think it's true. Google programmer is smarter than that. PR value will be decreased if you put a comment in a PR5 page when there are hundreds of comments before you put yours, it's called OBL (outbound links) factor. There are many factors and we can't make a generalization by saying "one PR backlink is worth tens of the lower PR".

Yer this is definitely not published but I'd say it's about

Google has over 200 markers that determine page ranking. Backlinks are obvioiusly very important but Google ranks them depending upon the importance of the site you are linking to, whether it is a one way link (them to you) or a mutual link and so on. What you need is a proper marketing plan that you constantly work: daily.
