Related Posts Plugin (but want to link out to different site)

Hi there

Just wondering if anyone knows of a related posts plugin (for Wordpress), but not one that links to posts on that installation of WP

Ideally I want to be able to specify the list of URLs that can be used for the related posts, but those URLs will be in a different installation of WP.

Long story is that I have my main site on the root, and a blog separately installed in a subfolder. I want the blog posts to point to the main site for internal linking.

But the normal related posts plugins won't do the job - as they will only point to other posts on the same blog.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

  • Hmm, I don't think you can do this because the plugin will need to access other website's database.
  • I don't think you can do this. You can do this if it links to the same site but out of the site, you're gonna have to do it manually. Add a link that heads over to a different site is the best way to do this. As for linking to the same site, linkwithin is what I use and it's really good and effective.
  • Yes it can be done. You can redirect a post to another URL using this plugin..

    But then again, you need to know how to use categories to fish out only "those" related links there.
