Is IM to earn serious money or just for fun

IM is tough and complex. Though many people think of making it as their primary income source but the real fact is that U need to have an other primary source of income (except those of who R really successful and some others).
So I think for most of us, as we have some other primary source of income, IM is just to earn passive money or just for fun.

Don't get me wrong...Just my ramblings:p
Thnx

Any business can be your main income or side income based on how much effort you put into it and how good you are at it.

You can work 40+hrs a week at something but if you are not moving the business forward you will never see the income you should. On the same note a guy could be putting in 5 hrs a week but know what to do and how to do it and be making $100k/yr.

This is true in all businesses. And in the beginning you either have to have money to get a business going or time.

Well said. If you actually enjoy what you are doing you are more inclined to succeed at it.

I'm a marketing student at the Ohio State University right now. I make enough money to support myself and have money left over for entertainment. I spend a lot less time doing IM than all my roommates spend at their jobs.

I honestly can't see me ever working a "normal" job again for the rest of my life.

I hear that. The whole reason why I got interested in IM is because I cannot stand the idea of a M-F job. I am a student also and its great to be able to have free time and not worry about spending 20 hrs a week at some crap job just to pay for school and all that.

While the learning curve is a massive undertaking from the perspective of someone with little or no prior knowledge of basic computer skillz (*such as was so for me) -I am starting to find it both fun and capable of providing success being the reward equal to, and/or of ones efforts.

I still have 2 sources of income 1 online, and the other offline. However, with certain events recently, I am considering a transition whereby, I invest more time online, and work part-time until the online income frees me to go 100% online all the time.

It's a 'risk' and a challenge I am heavily weighing right in this very moment.

    All the Best,

Re "tough and complex" -- the basic concepts of IM are simple. Find something and sell it, or create something and sell it.

If you're totally unfamiliar with creating websites, developing a list etc, then of course it takes time to learn the basics. But it's just mechanics, and it doesn't take that long.

I can remember when IM seemed overwhelming to me, but from what I can remember, it took less than three months for it to become so familiar that it was almost boring.

    That's when it became fun.

Re "just to earn passive money or just for fun" -- you're selling yourself short. If you WANT to make a BIG income, why not set that as your goal?

It might take you years -- a college education takes years -- but what if you knew that at the end of that time, you WOULD make an income which would make your friends and relatives' eyeballs bleed with envy?

The question is: how much do you want IM success?

    Think about it.

Ask questions of the Warriors who are successful.

Create a BIG goal, and some plans.

    Work your plan every day.

Review your plan once a week...

Tip: SHUSH! Please don't share your goals with people outside IM. They have no clue about the online environment, and will just feed your doubts. Stay silent, stay busy, and hug your dreams.

And of course, whenever you have questions, ask the questions here.

In two weeks I'm walking away from a profession/offline business, which was a good job, lucrative, and fun ... but not as fun as my online business.

My online business will be my sole income source and it's now earning more than I did in my profession.

Your online business can be whatever you want ... play money on the side or scale it up into a sole income source.

    • I have to disagree with "tough and complex"

The hardest part is getting over pro-crastination, and not over thinking things. If you stick to one method and never give up, it's pretty much impossible not to make money.

Why categorize what you can earn?

If you can earn $1, you can earn $1 million dollars. Simply by repeating the process 1 million times or outsourcing to scale up your business.

Depending on how determined and focused you are, you can make a full time living online or a side income.

    There really are no limits.
