Want to make $1000 per week by next April ????

Hi All,
I have been operating a multi facited internet business for the past two years part time on the side. I turnover about $10,000 per year from this. This was operating very part time whilst working a fulltime offline job. Due to circumstances I am know free to have a real crack at building up my web business and have given myself until the end of March next year to make it work. I want to be earning about $1000 per week by the end of April next year ( about 6 months away ) . My current web business consist of a little bit of adsense income , a little bit of ebay partnered network income , a little bit of cafepress income and a larger bit of ebay sales income ( This brings the highest income but at a cost ). I have also started to generate a small return from a few clients sites I have built.

MY QUESTION IS .....

Where to focus my attentions and which of these areas of return do actualy have the potential to achieve my target income? Something I do have is plenty of time to dedicate to the project. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Peter,

First question I'd ask yourself is what happens once you reach $1,000 a week? Is that the end goal, or just a stepping stone to something larger? If all you're aiming for is "just" $1,000 a week you can do that doing any number of things and you probably don't need to give this a whole lot of thought. I'd say pick any of the things you listed, ideally the one you enjoy the most, and go for it. $1,000 a week really isn't much and you can easily achieve that with any of the above.

In general I would steer people away from "made for adsense" types of sites, especially if most or all of your traffic is expected to come from Google. That's just not a stable business at all. If you're going to put the work and effort in to something, it might as well be a solid, stable business that can be considered a real asset down the line, regardless of how big or small it ends up being.

    • I think you know that eBay selling has the most potential. You probably also know how difficult it is these days. eBay doesn't want the small sellers and will keep raising fees until you leave.

I was making more than your target selling full-time on eBay but my business model stopped being viable last year.

I agree with fLufF. Even though it isn't stable to depend on Google, I wouldn't necessarily assume that eBay is stable either. As stated, their fees are continuing to rise, and this trend does not look like it is going to stop anytime in the near future.

With that being said, if it is working for you I say keep it up. However, you may want to consider providing some sort of service as a way to gain stability.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree about the ebay issue of rising fees and costs. Anyone successfuly transfered an ebay business away to there own site using a shopping cart to sell direct?? Any other feedback on a direction to take would be appreciated.

      • I was unable to transfer my eBay merchandise to a website because the merchandise itself changed. I was buying precious metal jewelry salvage from M*cy's, repairing or polishing what I could and selling the remainder as scrap.

When M*cy's started buying fake gold and silver and passing it off as genuine, my business model went down the drain. Even if I'd wanted to knowingly sell fakes, scrap buyers are smart and cautious: they have testing kits.

It was a good time to leave eBay, anyway. I don't miss the 12 hour days and the struggle to ship 40 packages daily.

Whatever else you do, add building a list to it. For future benefits, you need to have a list. As for what you are doing now, if you cannot scale up any one of those to be making $1000 a week easily then you might want to check into something else.

I always recommend to people to join the War Room as it has a lot of great free stuff and in there is a free ebook that has a list of fast money making projects you can do.

They all take work, of course, but you said you have the time.

Depends on niche that you picked. If the niche is possible for the $1,000/week, you need to have one website and focus it. And promote the website.

    Hi Peter,
if you can build a list as Topkat22 has mentioned, so that you are independent of Ebay and Adsense, this will help you to produce a good long term business.

If you can think of something that you can provide the customers you already have on Ebay with something else - a product or service, then you could be on to a winner.

    Hope this helps

that's a very realistic and achievable goal.

Your efforts should be focused on traffic, lead gen (opt ins) and conversion.

Find some affiliate products to promote in clickbank, ones that pay at least $35 commissions.

Give them something that solves one of their most pressing problems in exchange for a name and email address.

send them 3 more pieces of content over the next week or tow solving some more of their problems, then let them know about the affiliate product you are promoting, just say something like if you want to solve (insert more specific problems here) just click this link

try out a few different traffic methods and use the one that works the best for you.
