How come W-Forum does not have this functionality?...

Why are we not able to do a search *within* our subscribed-to threads?

Yes, that's not a forum category exactly. But it is an existing file of threads.

I think it would be VERY useful to be able to search within one's threads that one has subscribed to.

We see a thread that interests us, then we subscribe to it (maybe a wso we want to buy -- at some point), then there's no way to search for it via a search -- the only way to do it is to search MANUALLY... pretty much impossible.

That sounds like a good feature, but the question is, how many people actually need it?

And that's probably why we don't have it.

The number of 'active' users on this forum is definitely high. But do they subscribe to massive amounts of threads like you and me?

Nevertheless, I concur with you. Having the ability to search *within* our subscribed-to threads can prove to be VERY useful.

Right -- what's the point of throwing a thread onto a separate list (subscribed-to list), if you can't search within the list, later?

I think I'm up to 750 threads saved. Granted most of those are old + unneeded -- but the ones just from the last month or so are pretty much useless, BECAUSE they cannot be search within.

      Cheers.

PS: How many are on your list?

I have to agree with you on that. Sometimes I have to back to old ones as well, the impulsive thinker that I am!

I've got around 520 threads saved as of now (and growing).

That would be handy. I have also wanted to search through my PM's for something I was told and have often given up as I was unable to find it, even if I remember who sent it to me. So searching PM's would also be on my list.

That, actually, would be on my list too. Looks like we're building quite a wishlist here :p

One thing you can do (and nobody does this, as far as I've seen) is to change the subject of your reply and include a keyword or something that will trigger your memory. Then it's way easier to find in your own profile stats, if not within your subscribed threads.

This software is good but its not magical. Maybe those functions aren't available. On another forum that I moderate its pretty much the same software as far as I know. I ask the owner and he told me that not a single person had ever requested that and he'd have to ask one of his techs if it was even possible.

When you hear someone telling you what YOU can't do, they are usually talking about what THEY can't do.
