Problem regarding giving my affiliates commission

Hi guys,

I have configured aweber so that everyone who promotes my product, automatically get their affiliate link inserted in any email I am sending to new people they referred to my opt-in.

But the problem is that when people opt-in to my list, they are sent a launch sequence. And under each video I send them there is a link to my product sales page. But when they click that link, then they are just directed to my sales page without the affiliates getting commission.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

Does your affiliate program set an affiliate cookie?

How long does that stay on the visitors site? I would think that would give the affiliate credit....

Thanks for the reply. I am using clickbank as payment and affiliate processor. But I can't figure out how to give affiliates credit if they get them to first opt-in to my list, and then I send those subscribers to a launch video. Because there is no cookie system on the launch video page itself.

      Any other ideas?

In Clickbank I think you can do this and make it work...

Create a new product in the same CB account you are selling your product in already.

From there make the landing URL for this product your video squeeze where the opt-in is located.

What this will do is set a cookie from CB so that when they opt-in and then either grab the one time offer or come back from a follow up email in the auto-responder sequence they will already have the cookie set.

This has everything to do with using the CB redirect system to the landing page. They will set the cookie for you so you don't have to worry about it.

If you already have Aweber setup to use affiliate ID in the links that you embed into the AR sequence then just make sure the URL structure matches the required affiliate URL structure that CB needs.

On the flipside, if you set this up correctly so that the cookie is set on the initial visit to the landing page where the squeeze is located you do not even need to worry about using affiliate links in the rest of your follow up sequence.

Since the cookie is already set.

In the long run I think it would make life easier to approach it this way?

The best thing would be to do both though... Set the cookie on the squeeze/opt-in using the CB rediret URL (on a new product) and from there also use the correct affiliate link structure in your AR sequence.

        Hope that helps....

Thanks man, that cleared up a lot of things. Really appreciate it.
