Why do you "think" you need free hosting?

Hosting is VERY inexpensive. Hostgator will let you host unlimited sites for about the cost of a large Caramel Machiatto and a small tip.

The problem with free hosting is you get what you pay for. Shoddy service, pop-ups, extraneous ads, downtime issues, etc.

Even if I knew a good company I'd be hard-pressed to recommend them because it's so darn cheap to get good reliable hosting these days.

    Hi Tron

Have a look on Ebay USA, UK and Australia. Webhosting for about $5.00 for 3-5 years, with Cpanel etc. Understand these are resellers, if they go bust, do not pay their bills or anything else happens then you need to have a B plan.

I have gone thourgh about 3 Free Sites that are really free, but you have to go through tons of upsells and stuff to get them. For less than $10 I would just go with the Ebay ones.

Just do a worldwide search for "hosting" on Ebay

I have to agree on Webgator hosting. The charge is around $8 per month.

I had some issues when I was setting up my first weblog with Webgator (the issues were my fault, by the way). I spent at least 20 mins with their chat service, and everything came out perfectly.

Now if I could just figure out how to do a "thank you" post in WF

These are some of the FREE hosting sites I am using to host WP blogs on them..

Some are good, some are jusk OK, but they work and best if all they are FREE!!

      So here, they are :

Some require that you have their ads on your sites, others are completely ad free.
But like one of the posters above pointed out, this is the list it currently stands. It does not mean that some of these sites will still be operating by the time you read this..

But, they are worth it for quick and easy backlinks..

One of the flaws that I see is that many don't treat an internet business like a real business, if you are serious about making money on the net, then get a hosting package like the ones that are offered on hostgator...

I was chatting to fellow Internet Marketer the other day, and he was telling me that he has about 75-100 WP blogs set up on free hosting all over the web.

He simply posts a different article (taken from ezinearticles or goarticles etc) to each blog once every 3-4 weeks, just to keep them alive and indexed by the search engines.

He doesn't want these sites to rank, just to be indexed repeatedly, so it doesn't matter if the site carries the hosts banners or not..

Then when he comes to launch one of his money making sites, he simply makes a post to all the blogs with a link to his money site and INSTANTLY he has 75-100 backlinks pointing to him..

Considering the fact that +95% of the websites on the entire internet have less than 100 links pointing to them, he already knocking on the door of the top 5% of the sites..

      A pretty clever idea..
I might even do it myself..

      Take care

Take it a step further...Set up the free sites to be RSS friendly and add an RSS pheed that contains links to all your resources. Then, as you add a new site, simply update the single RSS pheed instead of updating 100 sites.

Same thing with many of the free blogging networks.

ON a side note: Many free hosting services require that you log in using FTP at least once a month to keep your accounts active, even if they are getting some traffic.

As Bruce pointed out, his friend can get 100 links to a new niche site almost instantly, and 100 links is often enough to dominate some long-tail niches.

And proper use of FREE resources such as hosting and blogs IS building a business. I get tired of hearing these old, dead cliches that there is one and only way to "build a business".

That'S a very clever idea, and it isn't really a problem if they go down, since you only use them for backlinking anyway. I have to try that myself

A full listing of free hosts can be found at the link below:

Link: Free Webspace and Free Web Hosting Services

Just remember you get what you pay for, which in this case is nothing. Many free hosts are "Fly by night". Here today, gone tomorrow. If you are just using them for throw away sites or for testing, then no problem, but if you are setting up full websites that you truly care about, you maybe disappointed. Many free hosts have quite a bit of downtime etc.

    I really, really recommend them!

I agree that getting a Hosting account is pretty inexpensive when you consider the amount of money you can make with your own website.

I also use Host Gator and have been very happy with them.
