Design error on my squeeze page: help!

Hey guys,

I hope you are doing well.

I just took down a test site and am now going to use it for email collection. The only issue is that I am very new to design and there are two objects that won't seem to be aligned to center no matter what I do in Dreamweaver:

http://www.doubleyourdjing.com

- The embedded youtube video
- The email submission form

A quick tip on how to get them centered would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

~Sean

  • Hi Sean,

You might want to decrease the width of your squeeze page to make it easier on the eyes.

Have you tried using the centre tags (aka < center >)? I've never used Dreamweaver before...I use Kompozer, but I assume it's the same. You just need to put the tags right before and right after the stuff you want to centre.

    • DITTO!

I think the concept is very interesting and very "nich-ey" ... but I would DEFINITELY reduce the font size ... maybe use some mildly colored text so as to NOT take away from the VIDEO itself!

Or you could buy a Private Label Right video opt in template like I did when I was doing some video pages like this

  • Should be an easy fix. Create a table and then input the video inside the table and center anything inside of this table. It should push your video to the center. Just made the width 100%
  • I also have some alignment problems on my squeeze page which I'm trying to fix myself, the site in ie7 looks different than firefox. I'm using nvu at the moment.

    • Thanks for the help guys.

I changed the width of the page and used your advice to get the email submission form centered.

I still can't get the youtube video to center though.... hmmm.

      Any thoughts?
  • Sean you have a bad <center> coming up just before the video you should see this in dream weaver if you have it. Make sure you close out the <center> tag with a </center> after it if you need more detailed help just PM me it will be easier to transfer the code back and forth

TEO - it is all about coding and what type of tags you use some work in IE and others dont work in firefox again its all about the code and you would need to look more in detail I can do so but would rather do it via a PM

    • Thanks Sean!

I will try your center tag advice and will then drop you a PM if I don't have any luck. In Safari the video is centered but its not in firefox. I see what you mean!
