    Yeah I often do this as you do get people on your page for longer, clicking your links and lowering your bounce rate.

    Pictures are a great thing to have, they cater for the shorter attention span of todays youth

      lol...I think almost everyone these days have shorter attention span, not just the youth. There might be exception, but majority of the people like images. Quick to catch the eyes, can create interest in someone's mind to read the text associated with it.

    Who doesn't like looking at great photos that go with an interesting article? They break up the wall of text; are attractive; can add to the story; theyalso show a bit of editorial skills/care has gone into creating the article. I've found they work well.

    The downside I've found is that they can lower the CTR on ads - if that's your monetisation method.

      I too am pro images - it's just important to make sure you have the right to use the image.
