How would you spend $500 promoting a new clickbank site?

If you had a brand new Clickbank site and $500 to promote it how would you spend the money. I'm trying to come up with a plan.

1. Forum posting
2. Article marketing
3. Press Release
4. Blog commenting
5. Video marketing
6. Yahoo Answers
7. Building a list
8. SEO/Backlinks
9. Seeking affiliates
10. Media buying
11. Social bookmarking

Anything else?

Me personally, I prefer to stick with paid advertising like PPC (Adwords, Microsoft Adcenter, etc). Also seeking affiliates.

This is just my own experience (and others will have different experiences) but I found paid advertising to be cheaper than free advertising. For example, I would pay $40 on outsourcing backlinks for something that will hopefully work (it didn't, what can I say, I suck at SEO even though I've spent hours reading up on it and trying it). $0 profit.
Spend $13 on PPC... $24 profit. Works for me.

Spend it recruiting affiliates. More affiliates = More Money

This is what I'd suggest if I knew WHAT exactly to spend money doing to get them. Any ideas of what you are suggesting??

I would probably invest at least half the money into good content to use on my blog and to allow affiliates to use for promotion as well. Then, I would submit these posts all over the place and syndicate them.

I would certainly pay for a professional press release to be written, then have it submitted to many different sites as well. This is a great way to gain exposure now and for the future.

Then, I would probably put the rest of the money into a social bookmarking campaign and have some of the posts turned into videos for video marketing.

Let me give a few tips.

First thing first- we must have an objective on what we want to make with the money we spending. Obviously, if you are looking at building JV, this is what I will do.

    1. Create complete media kit for affiliates (banners, emails, etc)
    2. Spend at least $200 to test your conversion rate (this gives you hard numbers)
    3. Go to "affiliate-heavy" forums of your niche product, and advertise there (banners maybe?) for maybe a week or so.
    4. Create campaign prizes (with a $500 budget) its kind of hard though
    5. Contact JV partners that you know off, and inform them about your product availability in CB
    6. When you have some extra money, buy some solo ads with reputable insiders of the industry (don't need to be big shot btw, you can start small)
    7. Track, analyze, and improve on your conversion rate. Inform your partners.

    Well, that's a basic idea.

    Points 1,2,3,4,5,6,11 ARE SEO.

Which you have listed as point 8.

Take your $500 and spend it on educating yourself.

      1. Forum Posting - I'm talking about meaningful posts in niche related forums, not profile links.

      2. I'm talking about writing articles and getting them ranked, and funneling traffic through them to my site, not spinning articles with mass syndication for contextual links.

      3. Press Release - I'm talking about writing a press release that is actually newsworthy that may or ma not hit a many jackpot and actually get some decent traffic.

      4. Blog Posting - I'm talking contributing to blogs with meaningful comments, not blasting with Scrapebox.

      5. Video Marketing - I'm talking about making relevant interesting videos that actually give people information and people actually watch and ranking them in Google and on Youtube not turning boring articles into boring videos and blasting them to every video site I can for back links.

      6. Yahoo Answers - Again, I'm talking about funneling actual traffic through Yahoo answers with actual content.

      11. Social Bookmarking - again good content, actual traffic.

All of these sources contribute to SEO, but if you use them correctly the seo/backlinks are secondary to the actual traffic you can funnel through these sources. When I have # 8. SEO/Backlinks I am referring to xrumer/scrapebox/article spinning/syndication.

Sorry I didn't communicate that clearly in my original post. In my original post I was just throwing that stuff up there quickly for examples.

        No problem.

Definitely a white hat/grey hat indifference there

        And or simple misunderstanding/miscommunication ...

See if the WSO for the total SEO package for 6 months where they do all the SEO that you listed, blog posting, social networks etc are done for you for a one time fee of $97 is still open to sign ups and if so, buy that.

Also find and buy Matt Leclear's WSO for 5000 backlinks for only $50

(I'm not affiliated with either, just used them and they really worked).

That SEO and all those backlinks will set you up for the future.

Then, to get some fast sign ups and/or affiliates, go to the joint ventures and see if you can find a joint venture partner for a fee or some other arrangement so that your offer gets in front of a very targetted big list.

However, make sure that you have a great email that converts before you send it out.

    Good luck.

Yes go ahead and do this if you are experienced, but if not hire a professional or start off very small and test. You can lose a ton of cash with PPC very fast if you are not careful.
