I'm looking for a membership plugin that will do this....

Hi

Is there any existing plugin out there that can make content view-able *by the member*. I know there are "levels" of content access, but I am looking at something that will allow me to go further and grant content access based on user name, or member.

Does Fladliens' wp member champ do this? Or at the very least, something that would make the levels completely separate.

Right now, lets say we have contant A, B C, and level 1, 2, 3.

Normal application would be

level 1 = A
level 2 = A and B
level 3 = A, B and C

What about this?

Level 1 = A
Level 2 = B
Level 3 = C

And my earlier question, that is this:

Member 1 = A
Member 2 = B
Member 3 = C
Member 4 = A & C

Thanks in advance!

Steve, I looked a little more closely at wp member and it looks really good. I may actually get a few of their plugins as a bundle and save some money.

I think this is exactly what I'm looking for, AND it's at a good price.

    thanks again

    Try s2 member.

You can do this with s2member plugin and customize things a lot more than that.

You work with php code to customize access to each level but you don't necessarily need to have a deep unterstanding of php or coding at all. - I actually LEARNT PHP from s2member as it is so intuitive.

There are also helpful videos for getting started.

Geeez anyone would think I made the plugin LOL.

    WP Access allows this...

DAP (Digital Access Pass) does this and is the one I recommend if you have the money.

Hey CMCarlin, it's been a couple months since I went through and reviewed as many wordpress membership plugins as I could find. Magic Member, Wishlist, Fladlien's Member Champ, and several others as well...The best one I found at the time, and I would suspect this is still the case, was Digital Access Pass (DAP).

It's got a high(er) learning curve, but if you're used to using automated tools (having read some of your other posts) then it should be a piece of cake. The support is top notch and the developer really knows his stuff. At the time I was doing my research he was super active on this forum.

DAP allows you to do exactly what you're describing. You can control access level on a page basis, member basis, time-frame basis, and the standard content locking, plus way too many other features to list.

Don't let the slightly less flashy website fool you...DAP is where it's at.

@stephenwaldo and @Coby: Thank you for your show of support for DAP :-)

    @CMCarlin,

DAP has a shortcode feature that allows you to do this. We call it "Member-Specific Content".

Let's say you run a coaching program. You have 50 clients.

You want Joe Customer to see a tailor-made custom video meant only for Joe, and Jill Member to see a specific PDF report written specifically for Jill's business.

Now using the "userId" parameter in the DAP shortcode, you can now protect a piece of content so that only a specific DAP user can see it.

    [DAP userId="144"]member-specific content for Joe[/DAP]
    [DAP userId="271"]member-specific content for Jill[/DAP]

If Joe goes to the page which has the above shortcode, he will ONLY see content meant for him. And when Jill gets there, she sees only content meant for her.

And once you create such a page, DAP also allows you to drip it such that each member gets access to it only after they've been a member for a certain number of days. So if you dripped it on Day 4, and Joe and Jill joined on different days, then they'll only see this page when they become 4 days old in your system.

You can read more about the DAP Shortcodes at http://www.digitalaccesspass.com/doc/dap-shortcodes/

Wishlist is your best bet and what I recommend fully.

I investigated many other options including those mentioned in this thread and Wishlist came out tops for what I need and the all round features, benefits etc, including for ease of implementation if you want to do things yourself.

    Hope this helps.

E-Member is What I use, very easy after you play around with it for a while. Then you just check the boxes at the bottom of the pages that you want to make active for those membership levels
