I have dabbled with affiliate marketing for a while now but haven't achieved that much success. I was most successful with PPC promoting CPA offers but I don't have the money now to do PPC, and I don't really like CPA offers anyway, most seem shiesty . I can use wordpress and I have aweber and have some general affiliate marketing knowledge.

What should I do to start making money?

Why not create a product about how to use PPC to promote CPA offers.

    Hey Spizzlo,

Watch out asking qustions like that because you may get
100 replies from marketers asking to buy their stuff.

A great strategy if you like affiliate marketing would be to
build an authority blog around an Amazon.com best seller.

Get ranked for several top products and build a list with your Aweber
    account.

Then build a relationship with them, give them great info on the topic
and cross promote related high converting Clickbank info products.

A massive tip would be to stick to ONE website and build it up to
    100 pages+

PS Just be careful not to spend the next 1000 hours looking through hypey
claim products. That is not the activity that is going to bring you profit.

    Have Fun

That's a great idea Nathan thanks. I have heard Amazon affiliate blog, and authority blog, but not an Amazon authority blog! I'm going to give that a try I think.

      OR...

You can get the aweber account, throw up a squeeze page with a MRR/PLR/Give Away product and buy a bunch of solo ads, then set up some ad swaps, call it a day.

      To Your Success,

        Hey there
If your going to do the Amazon blog thing then Id suggest spending a bit of time thinking how you can incorporate a social element into it.
The days of throwing up a blog with a few keywords are I think coming to an end.
Try to make your site one where people will want to come and interact if your looking for long term success.

Thanks everybody for the great ideas. Now is the time to take action. I'm going to create an Amazon authority blog, maximizing on the holiday season. I am also going to put up a squeeze page and start building a list. Thanks again!

How often can I send an offer to people on my list?

I'd make a list of the options that excite me (just search the forum and see what people are talking about...there's a million ways to make money online). Then go through each one to see which would be the best fit for you and inexpensive to start!

The thing I hear most is 'build a list' and I am finally going to go that route again. I failed at it miserably the first time, so now I have built my page and am trying to drive traffic with PPC from The Content Network. I got my fingers crossed as I can't afford too many more failures.

Many others have done it this way, so I don't see why I can't. Just hope I picked the right incentive.

If you like the idea of having an amazon authority blog, I have had great success with gift idea blogs, the sales really explode right around now but the sales keep up all year.

They only take a few hours a month to maintain and are good for around $6,000 - $8,000 a year which isn't a lot but a few hours a month for a single profit stream is not to bad.

Choose a niche, put up a simple squeeze page & give away some good free content (either plr or create it yourself), build a list, build a relationship with your list, and occasionally promote affiliate products that would be useful to them. As long as you give more than you take, your list will trust you and will buy based on your recommendations.

Yup, build a list as others have said. You want to capture the emails of 99% of visitors to your site who will never buy anything the first time. Then you want to warm them up by providing them awesome content over time, and start developing a good relationship with them. Then you'll be in a better position to recommend products to them.

Given the time of year, I would recommend creating some sites around popular items that are going to be selling for the holiday season, so there's less competition and less work for you. The sheer volume of traffic will keep you atop the search engines as long as you make sure to set up everything properly. There are lots of different things you can promote across a variety of niches. Here are just some of the things that come to mind and possible approaches.

You can do things like toys, electronic gadgets (given recent events, Apple stuff comes to mind), video games - cross promote gaming consoles, golf - easy to promote products used by particular players, can be used in a variety of other sports as well, fashion, shoes, jewelry, cooking (supplies - lots of food prepared during the holidays), quit smoking - lots of people make new year's resolutions to quit (hundreds of thousands of people a month - sad and shocking), weight loss (global epidemic)...

    Good luck,
    Joey

First you need a niche, then a domain name, then you need a website and squeeze page, then an autoresponder, some PLR for free reports or e-courses, a payment site then you are ready to go

If you're decent with wordpress and have an aweber account, why not use one of the many email capture plugins to make a squeeze page and build an email list that you can later offer cpa offers to?
