With times tough and money slim among Internet Marketers, the word Guerrilla Marketing takes on a bigger importance when it comes to surviving.

Of course for those who don't know, Guerrilla marketing was coined by Jay Levinson and it depends more on one's creativity, initiative and strategies than a big budget.

Of course forums like this come to mind along with various article marketing strategies and other traditional methods.

Without giving away any trade secrets (unless you want to) can you share some of your best no or low cost Guerrilla Internet Marketing secrets with this Forum? Thanks for sharing!

    Find a hot niche something that is in demand.
    Write a quality ebook or a series of them and
    sell the PLR rights on the WSO section of this
    forum.

    This is a very fast way to make money by providing
    value...just make sure your ebook is
    unique, quality and the niche should be in demand.

    Warning: Don't copy/Sell used PLR/ rehash/spin/etc'
    If you do, you'll piss a lot of people off and they'll never by from
    you again.

    • You're right about that, nothing ruins reputations faster than rehashed spin. It's still ironic how many people do it.
  • Great tip I had was to leverage your content.

    I.e you write one article, post to blog, post to article sites, make a slide show and upload to slide sites, create pdf upload to pdf sites, use jing to film you narratiing your slide site, now have a video, strip the audio out of video you now have a podcast.

    Saves time creating hundreds and hundreds of articles and allows you to take one piece of content and distribute it across many formats, could also book mark and share through social media as well.

    If people have a small budget out source the creation of the original article and the different formatting of it and concentrate on distribution, or vice versa.

    • Good example of doing more with less effort. That's what I'm talking about. And a way to do bigger things on a smaller budget. Good idea about the podcast.
    • yes a good way to do this is to set it off viral. To do that just make sure you have killer content, that no one else is willing to give away.

    • Very true statement although its no good having buy now buttons on the moon if noone will ever see them. They have to be accessible on a daily basis for them to really add dollars to your bottom line.

  • My favorite guerilla thing is twitter posting about my website news and some great stuff of our users on there. If I follow trend wave I can get more than a hundreeds clicks for 1 of my link for around an hour. I have around 4000 twitter followers, they are cool and loyal guys! I like it because it's free, and I know that it helps my followers! For example I reached 15 Adwords clicks for around 25 dollars! (and get 0 conversion) What do you think is better?

    • Guerrilla Marketing is not always free - but it IS ALWAYS effective.

      Guerrilla Marketing is not the latest "catch phrase". Jay Conrad Levinson is the FATHER of Guerrilla Marketing (and my mentor). Guerrilla Marketing is not simply a term either. It is an actual systematic methodology on marketing that is used by millions of businesses globally. From Fortune 50 (yes 50) down to Mom & Pop. It is also often a MANDATORY study for those desiring an MBA in Business at many Universities.

      Despite popular belief, if there is ONE WORD that would describe Guerrilla Marketing, it would be: PROFITS! Guerrillas are only concerned with profits, every other metric is designed to point towards that.

      To note Jay has been part of the creative teams that made household names of The Marlboro Man/Country, The Pillsbury Doughboy, Jolly Green Giant, "Snap Crackle Pop", Allstate’s good hands, United’s friendly skies, and the Sears Diehard battery and many more.

      NO ONE has sold more books on marketing IN HISTORY than he has. This is super awesome because the FIRST Guerrilla Marketing book came out in 1985 WELL BEFORE there was such a thing as a "world wide web".

      Guerrilla Marketing uses Time, Energy and Imagination instead of a lot of money. It is all about using unconventional strategies, secrets, and tactics for earning conventional goals. This equals big profits from any small business, Internet or otherwise.

      That being said

      MY SEVEN TIPS:

      1) Make A Budget. Saying "I don't have one" or "it will be however much I need" is not a budget. Set aside an actual and specific amount of money. Track it.


      2) Make a plan. Many people fail to have any kind of real strategy moving forward. A plan works well with your budget, because you are never caught by surprise. You always know "what is next" and you always know "how much it costs" This is super important because you always want to improve and I have a saying


      Those two are not and do not have to be big elaborate deals like many believe. In fact, after you do them enough times, they become intuitive and look like a few lines of text/outline/notes...maybe even in your head.

      3) Get a MENTOR/Coach

      Highly Successful people always attribute their crossing of the ignorance barrier to a coach/mentor.

      4) Have Integrity. You won't satisfy everyone, there are always "those people" out there who are difficult and refuse to be happy with you for whatever reason, but for the most part, your customers come first and are in charge - make them happy as best you can.

      5) Discover the difference between Methodologies, Strategies and Tactics. Once you do and focus on mastering Methodologies (timeless principles), you will thrive no matter the circumstance or latest change in culture/technology.

      6) DO NOT NEGLECT offline advertising. It actually is very cost effective in driving traffic and building a list.

      7) Something the GURUS rarely tell you, but my OTHER mentor John C. Maxwell always says is: "Just Keep Adding Value." Let your focus be providing VALUE to everyone you meet and profits will follow. This means you would NOT sell SHOVELS or SHINY OBJECTS just to make a buck. You also Do NOT tell people to "watch over your shoulder" or "follow you" knowing they don't have the resources (or stomach) to duplicate what you REALLY did for success.

      8) (ok so one bonus tip ) Pool your resources as often as possible. Joint Venture and Fusion Marketing are super duper powerful. Look outside the normal "box" for what this means also.

      (i guess let's make it a full 10?)

      9) Remember there is NO MAGIC BULLET. It is never "one" thing that brings you success, but a series of little things all working together that do.

      10) It is never WHAT YOU DO...but HOW you do it that makes the difference. Don't merely observe WHAT others are doing...find out HOW and WHY! Success is not a destination and it is NOT a journey...it is a PROCESS!

      OK I am getting preachy (yes I am also a Pastor), so I better quit while I am ahead!

  • Here I will show you one of the powerful ways I have personally used to drive more traffic and leads into my funnel and how you can convert them easily if you have a profitable system setup.

    Here's how I have set up a system using the power of viral marketing and sales funnel development that has given me good results.

    Here's what I did for one of my sites that got me around 30,000 unique visitors, 600 leads and approximately $25k profits from just 487 articles I created.

    First let us talk about the system that should be in place before you set up your traffic system and focus in driving traffic. Without this profit machine installed you will waste huge amount of time driving traffic because it will not convert that well.

    The first thing I did was I focused in setting up a sales funnel. A sales funnel simply means that you focus in creating few quality products in your niche that will solve problems of your subscribers.

    You can either created these products, use PLR products or find affiliate products that you can sell. However the fastest route is to grab either PLR products or find affiliate products and then slowly on the way you can focus in creating your own products.

    Set up these products in your autoresponder system and recommend them to your list using the power of email marketing. Create unique quality content and then recommend your products within the emails.

    For example: You can get started with 10 products and have 6 emails per product. With this you have total 60 content emails promoting your 10 products. You can schedule to send out one email per day for next 60 days and your products will keep selling automatically.

    The next thing you should focus on is getting the conversion rate of your squeeze page right. You must atleast target a 30% conversion rate for your squeeze page to set up your system before you start rolling in traffic.

    You can give away a free report in your squeeze page that contains quality content in your niche.

    Create another 2 reports for viral marketing purpose that I will explain later.

    Till now here are the components you have build for your online business...

    1. Squeeze page.
    2. 10 products that you can sell.
    3. 60 solid content emails.
    4. Autoresponder system to shoot out your emails.
    5. A complete sales funnel working for you on autopilot selling your products through emails.

    I will show how I have one of my traffic systems that will drive traffic on long term basis and how you can easily triple your traffic using effective viral marketing system in place.

    Infact you will discover 2 powerful viral components I have set up in my sales funnel that keeps growing my traffic and leads for long time to come without having to drive more traffic to my squeeze page.

    The highest quality traffic I believe which I get to my website is through articles. There is a very simple process I follow...

    1. Write unique quality content articles.

    2. Submit them to top article directories. Manually submit to ezinearticles and then mass submit my articles using services and softwares.

    3. Make sure to include your keywords in the anchor links in the article resource box to get top rankings for those keywords.

    4. Drive all the traffic to the squeeze page to build a list where my sales funnel is installed.

    Here's a simple viral component in place that you can install within your sales funnel that can boost your traffic in the long run easily...

    1. Set up a viral tell a friend script and tell your existing subscribers to refer 3 friends in return for a high quality free report. If they do this they get this report for free. Many subscribers will refer their friends and this will double or even triple your traffic in the long run.

    2. Convert your main squeeze page report and your tell a friend report into a brandable report. Give your subscribers free resell and distribution rights to your reports and allow them to brand your report with their...

    a. Name
    b. Website ad and link.
    c. Affiliate links.

    They will get motivated to brand your report and spread it because your report will help them to drive traffic to their website and also make affiliate commissions.

    Include your squeeze page link in this report to build a list.

    What happens is that your brandable reports will spread like wild fire in the long run and all the traffic will land up to your squeeze page. They will get converted into leads and many of them will refer their friends who in turn will convert into leads. All of them will again distribute and brand your reports.

    Can you see the viral traffic system in place. In the long run this machine keeps running and it keeps getting you more visitors and leads and all of them ultimately land up in your sales funnel.
