Amazon conversion question

I've never really noticed or paid attention to this before, but yesterday there were 4 items sold through my affiliate links out of 5 clicks, which were generated from 5 unique users. Amazon reported a 80% conversion, but i'm curious as to just what these figures mean.

Does this mean 4 different people ordered 1 item each and the last person didn't, hence the 80% conversion, or is it only relative to the amount of items that were purchased compared to the amount of clicks i.e. 4 items ordered from 5 different people = 80% conversion?

I asked Amazon, but they apologised and said they can't release this information for customer security reasons. Strange.

Anyone able to enlighten me? It would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick.
