Hello everyone,

I'm a long time lurker and have finally registered so that I can participate more fully instead of just sponging all the great info here.

I'm still fairly new to internet marketing, to date I have made about $60 through a couple of different avenues. While looking for my own personal path, I've tried some Google Adsense, some Amazon affiliate stuff, and a fiverr gig or two.

My first goal is to find a path that works for me, with my own talents and weaknesses, and then to ramp that up.

That's all for now, nice to finally be able to say "Hi" to everyone!

    Hi John. Welcome!

Well, you're $60 ahead of me in online marketing! And the frustrating thing is that I know I have good stuff to sell.

What are you doing to find a path that works for you? I keep finding I get distracted by different offers people are making that promise to get your business off the ground faster, or give you something new to sell. I'm finding it hard to stay focused, I think mainly because we are in a financial crunch right now.

Staying focused appears to be an issue for many, many people!

My particular problem is converting traffic. I have a hobby/entertainment type site that is getting some traffic and I use Amazon affiliate links (with a smidge of adsense), however none of the sales I've scored to date have been the items I was specifically talking about! It's always something *else* a visitor bought while my cookie was active. Not complaining, but it shows one of my weaknesses.

Same thing for another site I built for a friend. With some SEO and domain name knowledge learned from this site, I was able to get the site launched and in No 1 Google spot for the main keywords. The conversion, however, just isn't there. Not sure if it is the product or the marketing copy yet. There is also not a ton of traffic, but I was constrained by the product in terms of keywords to go after.

Right now I realize that there are probably hundreds of way other people have found success marketing online. And that's great. But what I need to learn first is what can I do that I actually enjoy doing enough that I'll keep it up, and be able to rinse and repeat without going insane.

I want to have fun, AND make a killing.

So admittedly I am doing some experimentation right now and that is actually the exact opposite of focusing. So I am allowing myself to experiment a little now, so that I can focus in the future.

Hey, thanks for all the welcomes.

I'll definitely be looking into war room membership once I take care of a few other priorities. People do seem to rave about it.

I can concur it's an over-delivery... spend $37 and access 100x the investment just in freebies. I actually had to stop myself from going in there for awhile, until I refine my current projects.

As stated above, and throughout the forum there IS gold permeating in many different methods and venues, and at times the desire to learn it all can cause the all too common information overload.

None-the-less, it's good to have another Warrior who from any early indication has a decent game plan.

        Welcome to WF!!!

Everyone here does seem to rave about how great it is - plus its extremely cheap for lifetime membership - I will be signing up for it in a couple hours once I get back home.

    Welcome John.

As a newbie, you can get lots of great information here. I suggest you use the forum search feature and search the word "newbie" and read all the posts (not WSO's though). WSO means Warrior Special offers and are things for sale.

I don't recommend you buy anything until you have a method and a plan.

To make money, you really need to start with one method, one niche and work on it for a couple months to get going. It really takes focus and then when you get a method going in one niche, you can do it again and again in other niches.

The one piece of advice I give to all newbies is join the War Room on here. It is the only purchase you should make because there is a ton of free stuff in there. Just don't get overwhelmed with so much info that you do nothing.

Good luck and again, welcome. :-)

Welcome John... There are certainly lots of different avenues you can choose from when it comes to IM..

So that you don't get overwhelmed with so many things - may I suggest you find something that resignates with you, create a simple plan, make a list of all the steps it's going to take to get you there and begin at once - only focus on one thing at a time. Once you master the skill set - move on to the next.

    Good Luck...

Hi John just read your message and i agree with you, the internet is massive and it can be extremely overwhelming for not only new members wanting to start and grow a business but for everybody! Well my suggestion is that there are tons of places to do your reseach on to make money however the real question you want to ask is what will generate money for me in the long term, will this program or system offer great value, do i believe in this system.
How are the people are they supportive or just out there to trick you with all this unneccesary garbage and selling tricks. Google Adsense is great and so is Amazon advertising but these are tough marketing strategies if you dont have a mentor or experience. Try doing some video markeing, article marketing, classified ads or social media these are great ways to get some traction.
    Wish you luck
