Favorite Sites To Buy .com Domains?

I am a very loyal customer of HostGator for actual web hosting. They are second to none!

However they do not compete when it comes to buying .com domains. I do also use Godaddy but would rather give my money to someone else as I do not agree, whatever the reason, with their CEO shooting an elephant.

I have used NameCheap but it took over 3 days for my domain to forward.

If anyone has any good experiences with other companies I would love to hear them. Speed of transfer is very important to me.

I have used NameCheap to register a couple of domain names. Registration is fast, navigation is easy to use plus you get free whois guard. I don't know why you don't like it but it's my favorite so far.

I use Web Hosting by Omnis Network for most of my domains now - still have some at godaddy and dotster.

omnis - $8.95 - not the cheapest, but the renewals are also $8.95 - they don't jack up renewal pricing. I've got bulk domains there, so I think mine are now $8.25 or something like that now.

Again, not cheapest at all, but never had any issues with them in more than 2 years. They offer hosting and other services I don't have a need for, but the domain registration is fine, no-nonsense stuff.

@ mgkimsal - thanks for the suggestion. Will have a look now

@ Psst - I am glad you have had great success with Namecheap, unfortunately I have not as I mentioned, which is why I am hesitant to use them again

I'm using HostGator to host all of my websites, and GoDaddy for all of my domains. I have never had problems with any of them, and hopefully will stay that way.

I am the same as you - I forget when I opened my godaddy account but I did have my first website with them - soon as I discovered Hostgator , I never looked back

I just use godaddy for buying domains these days.

try calling namecheap directly and talk to a human being. I read of another warrior doing this (for a differrent issue) and getting what they needed asap.

also, make sure you use coupon code for namecheap to save some $$. current code is Octoberfest

I, like many others here use Domain Names, Web Hosting and SSL Certificates - Go Daddy for all my .com purchases. They often have promotions and really good offers.

classic 1and1.com which offers .com for 99 cents now... can you imagine .com for 99 cents with lots and lots of EMDs still available to register?

I use Hostway for domain names. Their customer support is very good. And the domains are still $9.99 (last time I bought one.)

Namecheap is the best of everone I tried. No doubt.

Registration and forwarding is done immediatly for me and I use hostgator as well.

Seems strange that it took 3 days for you?

    Good Luck

I use Hostgator for hosting (awesome!), but I buy my domains from Internetbs.net. They charge $6.95 for .net and $8.35 for .com, but there is free private whois. I love them!
