Free giveaway help needed for DJ niche!

I am currently setting up my IM business selling products to the aspiring / beginning & intermediate DJ niche.

For my business I was going to give out free info on how to become a DJ. These kids do want to become DJs but what I have realized is that there is a deeper reason. Either they want to be cooler, have more friends, get hot girls, be in the spotlight, have a cool identity or live a rockstar lifestyle. These reasons are why they REALLY want to become DJs.

What I am wondering is what kind of free giveaways should I be offering? I was going to give away snippets of my "learn to DJ" series of videos but I am starting to think that I could do better.

"So if you sell drills, you can write a report on how to make better holes, and you'll get lots more sales leads than merely advertising information about your drills.

Why does that work? Because: Nobody who boughta drill wanted a drill. They wanted a hole. Offerinformation about making holes and you'll be muchmore successful.
"

With Djs, would this mean sending them a guide on how they can get more friends, women, social credit, spotlight? Sending them stories of how Djs went from broke, lonely kids to rockstars.... or something of that nature? Then after a few emails offer the solution to how they can become a rockstar DJ too ----> my product?

This seems that it would be more effective than giving away free information about how to become a DJ and then trying to sell them more of the same.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I think you kinda answered this yourself. Some kind of report called something like "Live Like a Rock Star.." - I think that may be the angle to play up as it includes "make money" and "get hot girls" etc.. The report itself can still offer much of what you were going to originally offer - just spiced up with the things you mentioned.

I can do the design for the report if you like! Also, I think that you need to have some sort of angle. People who wanna become DJs may not want it for all those reasons. So either you do a report for each one, or lose a big portion of your customers. OR, you do a report about being a Dj, and include all those things in it!

I would go as far as to record a video when you DJ and show these kids how "cool" it is. Nothing like a 1 to 2-minute video showing how much fun you are having.

You can go with the report first or use the videos to get them in and offer the report as a bonus on how they can do what you do.

    sell the hiphop lifestyle.

Big cars, rims, jewelry, clothes, traveling, women, groupies, other rap starts, the parties, etc. The list can go on for days.

Or you can even do an interview with a top DJ(s), then turn that into an ebook. you can create a nice viral campaign with it. Then when your product launches you can turn it into an mp3/dvd and give it away as a bonus with your product.

I definately agree that its the lifestyle you want to sell to potential customers. then provide the means in this case DJ'ing,to getting that exclusive lifestyle.
