Google new site accepted!.. but.. not much change in traffic..;-(

Well, ive been busily beavering away over the past year, building a team of consistent writers and felt finally able to submit the site to Google just over a month ago.. and about 3 weeks later got the email I was hoping for out of the blue..! At about this time the traffic went from about 70 unique hits a day to 150.. (plus or minus 70ish)...And i was hoping this would increase dramatically when I got indexed...

Anyway, its been indexed for about a week now and im not seeing any real increase in traffic..

There is talk on the Google News forum of Ive heard of changes in Panda effecting traffic... so im wondering if other news publishers are seeing this..

Any thoughts on This?

thanks
Paul

p.s. Ive been blocked yet again from GRC so am posting here.. (hoping EBR will respond to one of my emails/pms to let me back in again!)

I would suggest you wait 4-5 weeks to draw conclusions. If you keep posting unique content on a regular basis you'll definitely see an increase in traffic. But getting indexed in Google is not going to get you a blast of visitors unless you rank very high for certain keywords ;-)

    Goodluck!

WizIMS - I was hoping being indexed and accepted into Google News would give me a real boost.. but... seems ive still got a way to go and a bit to learn..

Just being indexed may mean your site is the 900th search result 90 pages back, where few would see it. There are tools that will report it's search result position for your important keywords, these are helpful for tracking the gradual improvement of rank position as you develop backlinks.
