What platform are you using your blog on? If it is wordpress, you can add a forum with a plugin. Or you could use software like vBulletin that you can install on your domain as a sub page or sub domain.

You could then give Mingle a try. There are a few wordpress plugins that could give you a forum, I don't have much experience using them, so can't tell you which is best. Just go to Wordpress' Plugin website and do a search and read some of the feedback.

If you are using Wordpress then you may want to use a forum plugin for this job. You do not need a new hosting for this.

If you want some free forum software I would check out phpBB • Free and Open Source Forum Software

You just have to create a subdomain or setup a folder for your forum so it shows up at yourdomain.com/forum (or something to that effect)

you can setup a forum its easy if you have cpanel use fantstico deluxe i think its that one and it will auto install for you, all you do is tell it what folder you want to install it on eg my site www.make-money-easy.org/forum so just input forum when it asks you where to install,or contact hostgator they will tell you how to go about this.

I too run wordpress powered sites and I now always use the mingle plugin. It's basic, but is plenty good enough for what you have said you need it for.
There are other plugin forums, but I have found them a bit slow to load.

    All the best

You can have subdomain, e.g. forum.yourblog.com or create a subfolder, e.g. yourblog.com/forum and install the related forum application. With this, you do not need additional hosting plan until your traffics is increased and need higher server resources.
