Why are sales/info pages all the same

I find it funny when you aren't actively seeking any sort of product that sales page just pop up all over the place.

Worse still, they all look the same.

I just copied this from another thread [i can't submit links cause i only have 5 posts : )]

www dot 21butrich dot com

As soon as I see a page like this i know exactly what it's doing. Why do people create the same look and feel for these pages when by now, most people know exactly what they are for.

For me, if i'm looking for some info product and I come across these designs i'm turned off straight away as i know the revenue is probably forged. I know that the person selling the product is trying to make money and tell me how rich they are - when they may or may not be. Everything about it to me is untrustworthy.

I know the design works, or has, but where did it come from - who said that all info/sales pages need to look like this or is everyone buying templates?

Can anyone recommend a product that is effectively the same, but their method of design is different? I wonder the success rate of various designs and which ones actually turn more profit.

When and if I ever decide to create a digital product to sell - I won't be looking at these pages for inspiration. Surely if these people are making 6 figures, they could hire a designer to make them unique..hahaha...hmmm?

I knew before opening this thread that you would be involved in some way with graphic design.

haha, yes fair enough - but it's a genuine question. hehe.

I don't plan on getting sales through this forum given the work that we do... but that's funny..

I think it's because most people make money by selling products that teach people how to make money by selling products that teach people how to make money. It's a proven system and it works, if it's don't broken, don't fix it!

The truth is, not all sales pages are the same. Oh, they may look the same
on the surface, but there is a big difference between a sales page written
by a professional copywriter who really knows his craft and a hack.

The appearance may be similar, but when you really start reading, you
can tell the true professional from somebody who just threw something
      together.

As for your remark about all income proof being faked, I think you're
assuming something without any real factual evidence. Yes, some of it is
faked but some of it is legit.

That wasn't my intention and I know there are real figures vs fake. But I have no evidence . Apologies.

I think [personally] even if you had a dodgy copywriter vs a professional copywriter the appearance would effectively still be the same. Does the fairly plain sales page give the same message as what the person is trying to sell or doesn't it matter. I know they work, but I just want to know if for these pages the appearance makes a difference at all?

Can anyone share a link of a good vs bad sales page... if so, which one is more popular if the product is similar? Or, because of the marketing they reach enough people not to warrant worrying about how it operates/looks etc?

The reason why they are have the same look and feel is because they work! If it ant broke don't fix it

I agree w/ Steven - many of them are different. But many of them ARE the same. And that's because many many people have tested, retested, splitested, and tested again, and these sales pages are what work. If your focus is on looking good, then you'll never end up w/ one of these sales pages. But - if your focus is on making money, then you'll probably end up with a similar sales page.

we have a big "tabloid-like" newspaper here in Germany.

the paper is REALLY stupid, it's basically big headlines and builds mainly on emotions, blood, scandals.

However, it is the biggest and most sold newspaper here. And the format hasnt changed in DECADES.
