Please help - FB ads get rejected

I really cannot understand what exactly in FB's TOS negate my FB page or my ad. My ad is simple. Click LIKE if you love pitbulls, and the pic is of a pitbull. They go to my Wall. My FB page is Pitbulls | Facebook

Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Why are my ads getting rejected?

This might not be the exact reason your ads are getting rejected, but the Title of your page is in violation of their TOS for pages.

    https://www.facebook.com/page_guidelines.php

    10. Page names must:
    a. not consist solely of a generic or descriptive term (e.g. "beer" or "pizza");
    Your page name is "Pitbulls".

Thanks Jeffrey. But I had a simple Pitbulls page before with that title and had no problems with ads in the past. Is anything on my Wall or profile or header images with links to affiliate offers in violation of FB's TOS?

It doesn't really matter what happened in the past to be honest with you. They've gotten more strict as time has gone by. All I know is, your page title is in violation of their TOS. If you have affiliate links on there too, they can be considered 3rd party advertisements, which is another violation.

The title is important though because once you get to a certain number of likes you might have to verify that you're the representative for the page, and you cannot prove that you are the rep for pitbulls everywhere because it's a generic term. When that happens, you'll lose admin rights to the page, or they'll just delete it.

Thank you again. A lot of FB Fan pages like the one by Brian Moran at Get 10k Fans do have links right on the header. But according to FB TOS I am supposed to get people to my page using ads, but cannot advertise affiliate links on my own page? ow do IM do it the right way?

You're welcome. I can't really speak about what Brian is doing, because I'm not sure what he's doing. I just know what their TOS says. Yes, people are getting away with things, but it's playing with fire and you risk wasting time and money if you get caught.

My suggestion would be to use the fan page to drive people to a blog and put the affiliate links in the blog posts or the side bar of the blog.

Also, using ads isn't the only way to get people to your page. You can use the existing fan base to get more fans via viral marketing, drive new fans from twitter, from a blog, etc. You can market it pretty much any way you would market a website and drive traffic to a website.

Naming your page something generic like 'Pitbulls' is just asking for trouble. All fanpages get reviewed when they hit the 10,000 fan mark and when they see your fanpage is called something generic such as 'Pitbulls' your admin rights will be removed so you can no longer post to that page. Your page will be turned into a community page. It's not a matter of if but when. It will happen.

Fanpages are deigned for those people who are the official representatives of a particular brand or product. Just like I can't start a fanpage about Coke you can't start a fanpage about pitbulls since you are not the official representative of something so generic as pitbulls - no one is and that's why it gets turned into a community page that has no admins. At the moment your page is in violation of their Terms and Services and since you cannot change the name of a fanpage once it has 100 members, you will need to start all over again.

I wouldn't waste anymore money promoting this fanpage. If you want to create a fanpage around pitbulls then to get around the rules you would need to call the fanpage something like "I Love Pitbulls" or "I Love My Pitbull" and then go and register a domain name that matches the page name. You would then put up a quick blog with a few posts or videos and put the url in your fanpage information. That way when they come to review your page they will see it is related to an actual website.

I would have to say this is for a number of reasons but I've had best results in getting ads approved between 2am- 5am I'm guessing this is because the guys approving the ads don't really care whats going on, Just keep submitting it (at least 5 times) That usually works for me!

I love what JeremySteam says about when to get your ads approved (in the early hours of the morning). Since I reside in Europe that might be the reason why facebook isn't giving me any problems.

But dude, be vigilant. A lot of my colleagues have had their ENTIRE facebook account suspended, slapped and banned because they tried to upload ads that were against FB TOS. And, maybe not by accident, a lot of them where in the Dog Niche.

Google hates weight loss miracles, Facebook hates Dogs...go figure...
