When article is FIRST approved at EZA who is viewing it?

Once my article is approved at eza I will get like a hundred views almost immediately (within an hour or two of going live).

I am in the diet niche. Who is viewing my articles? They cant be from google. And i cant imagine an ordinary person is going to EZA to search for weight loss info!? I only found out about EZA from being a marketer.

So is it fair to say that the initial views are VERY UN-TARGETED? Maybe other marketers peeping?

Thanks

edit- the reason i say this is over the last 4 days ive had a CRAZY amount of traffic at my site because of eza. It is one of my top traffic sources the last 4 days. BUT. No increase in sales. Before the new year when i didnt even write articles I was making about 3-4 sales per day. Still 3-4 sales per day even though I went from 200 visitors per day to almost 400.

Thats why im thinking its just garbage traffic.

    Jake,

    It's not necessarily untargeted traffic...

When you post your article it will appear in the 'Other Recent Ezinearticles' area of whatever article category you placed your article within. This area is the first block of links that appear right below the article itself.

So anyone reading an article from your article category will eventually scroll down and see your link to your article in this area, if you recently posted it. SE traffic will bring people to the other articles, which can eventually lead to yours, so this is more targeted traffic.

After a while your article gets bumped out of the Other Recent Articles section so you see a decline in the click throughs.

Also, each new article is posted on the EZA home page, again until it is bumped. This is much less targeted traffic.

Depending on how competitive the niche is, I'd also say that a decent portion of the initial traffic and CTR is other marketers looking to see what you're doing.

It is very targeted as the traffic does come from google.

Don't forget that Ezinearticles allow visitors to subscribe to topics/categories that they like so perhaps the first few 100 views are those who are interested in the niche itself.

From my own article marketing experience, sales and leads come through these "early adopters" as well so you can't label this kind of traffic as untargeted.
