How can I make money online without investing in anything?

I am a 16 year old male and i am wondering how can i make money online without spending money on any program? I don't have the money to purchase a domain name. Right now, i am trying to do clickbank, but everyone keeps saying you need a website. I tried PTC, which is a complete waste of time, I tried surveys, which takes forever and they never complete and tell me there is an error. I don't have article writing experience, I have a blog with chitika PPC, but it's not working out. I'm so overwhelmed, I keep starting from square one. Any strategies to making money without a website that doesn't overwhelm you? Give me options for my age. People are also saying you need to buy the product in order to review it properly. You see? I don't have that kind of money to do that, which is why i want to know how to make money without investing. Everything seems impossible, because there is always an obstacle to stop you from doing something. Thank You all for taking you time to answer.

It seems that you only have the option of providing services. To make money online you will have to invest money or time. If you don't have money you will have to invest your time.

So analyze yourself, what are your talents and strenghts? What value can you provide to others? Then go to Fiverr, Odesk or Elance and find a service you can provide to others.

Once you have a regular income from being a service provider, you can invest some of this money in building a business as an affiliate.

This is great advice. The best way to start out in IM is by providing a service then once you make money from that you can invest and move on to bigger and better things.

you can build a review blog of items you like, then link to those through your affiliate link (clickbank, amazon, ebay, etc). Build traffic to it through squidoo, hub pages, facebook, and so on. comment on other blogs about similar things and post your page link there, if allowed. you're bound to build traffic naturally that way.

    Well, that's a bummer.

However, you can register a ".info" domain for a year for $1, and it's not beyond your wit to find some friend or relative to buy you one.

Let's not pretend that doesn't matter much, because in the long run, it actually does. It's kind of "the one thing" that you do need to spend money on. But $1.

    And they're right.

(There'll also be a few who may tell you that you don't, and they're basically wrong).

Here's what you really need for ClickBank, in one little post.

But all you need to buy, for a website, is the domain-name for $1.

The site/hosting you don't need to pay a penny for.

Good places to use (all free): Weebly, Yola, Blinkweb, 000WebHost.

    * * Important: * * good places to avoid: Blogger/Blogspot, HubPages, Squidoo (these are unreliable sites you can never own: better explained here, but read the whole thread slowly and carefully!).

Ok, you've tried some second-class stuff, which was all "odds against", but still "an experience".

That's good news. It may prevent some people from instinctively telling you "Set up an article-writing business", which 9 people out of 10 around here get told, regardless of their experience/literacy.

(Your literacy looks fine to me, by the way: that wasn't a "hidden criticism"!).

"With a website" is better, in my opinion.

Websites don't have to cost money.

Domain-names cost money (if you call $1 "money").

You're definitely going to have to trade your time an effort to make money online. Learn this one fact early - there's really no "get rich quick" or "easy money" to be made online. Since you're so young & probably don't have many expenses like rent, food, utilities etc., there's really no rush for you to make money right away. (I know you want to make money now, but there's quite a bit to learn to make money online & everything takes time, you're probably better off learning everything you can & finding out what works, then developing that one method further until you've got good income.)

Having a website is definitely something that you'll have to do at some point. It's true that if you post on public sites like blogger, hubpages, even facebook pages eventually get taken away from you if they grow too large & aren't set up correctly (hint: set it up as a website page), so owning your own domain and hosting with the correct company is definitely something you need to consider.

You can get started with some of the services recommended above, and also consider that in addition to getting a $1 .info domain, 1and1.com is offering $1 .com's - wouldn't your mom, dad or one of your grandparents shell out a dollar for you? You could cut their grass and ask them to buy you 10 domains at that price so you can work in multiple niches...

Offering a service is something that you can consider, but remember that there's a lot of competition out there and it will take time to build a credible enough reputation to make real money that way.

My advice would be to go in a couple directions simultaneously - choose 2 or 3 and stick with them for the next year & learn everything you can about them. At the end of the year you'll probably be pretty surprised about what you've gained and the income you'll be making.

i'm only 19 and I make a good chunk of money online now. First thing you NEED to realize that this isn't a joke. Your starting a business and funding is nearly necessary if you want any real cash coming in. Yes you can try making a blog and yes you can start a PPC campaign but these are still strategies that work best when working off on some kind of budget. If you really want to you can try to offer services to people but then the whole factor of age and skill comes into play. If i was outsourcing i wouldn't trust a 16yr old kid to do work for me(just being honest here).

Your best bet for making money online(to fund other projects) is to learn dropshipping and sell items on eBay. this is how i first started out and got the funding i needed for other business ideas and it really worked. Don't just jump into this field because you'll fail just like you did before. Research dropshipping companies (not like doba companies) and make sure you know what to do inside and out before you do anything. Learn how EVERYTHING works and what you'll do if something goes wrong but right now this is with out a doubt the easiest and most effective way for you to make money online now.

good luck kid and pm me if need be.

Affiliate marketing - Learn, learn, learn, then work, work, work, and keep working that is the only way.

Or a cool Fiverr gig can be a quick fix in the meantime

The key is to find one product that interests you and then STAY FOCUSED!

(I know how easy it is to fall into the information overload. 'Been there done that)

If you're short on cash then you will have to pay in time to get started.

If you follow the steps below you will be on your way to a successfully generating an income.

1).Get an affiliate account at Clickbank and chose a product in a niche that interests you.

2). Do some in depth keyword research

3). Registered a domain based on one of your most profitable keywords - You can get a .info domain at namecheap.com for $2.99 per year

4). Get hosting for your domain - If you don't have enough $$$ for a hosting account PM me and I'll set you up on one of my reseller servers for a month or two - no strings attached - until you can get up and running.

5). If you're going the Clickbank rout, start by setting up a redirect from the domain to the affiliate offer or...

Maybe you are good at something like HTML coding or doing online research or whatever. The point is that you can offer your services and direct traffic to your own website from right here in the Warrior Forum using your signature or using the warrior special offers or even the Warrior for hire section.

6). Write at least three articles and submit them to Ezinearticles. Be sure to focus on one of your most profitable key words for each article (use a keyword density of 1.75% t0 2%) and don't forget to add a resource box and one call to action then link your article to your redirected website.

7). While waiting for your article to be approved start building your website. Use a template and try to create content for at least twenty pages. Focus each page on a profitable key word from your key word research using about the same key word density of not more than 2.5%.

8). Setup an autoresponder account. And follow up email series - If you can't afford an autoresponder you can send emails out manually - time consuming but you can do it for a while until you start making some $$$

9). Create a report or an ebook or whatever that you can offer to your opt-in listget rid of your redirect and set up your website.

10). Write at lest 3 more articles for article directory submission and get them submitted. Each article should again be focused on a specific key word.

11). Upload your website and go live. Don't forget to remove your redirect if working with Clickbank.

13). Start setting up you Web 2.0 properties like Wordpress.com, Squidoo.com, Tumbler.com etc. and don't forget Twitter.com (They are free)

Each site in your network should have a unique key word focused article with a 1 call to action and one link pointing back to you website. It is ok to spin some of your earlier articles here.

14). Start tweeting at leas 3 times each day and continue to expand your Web 2.0 network.

15). Start building some backlinks to both your articles and your expanding Web 2.0 network.

The list goes on but these steps will get you started and making some $$$

Once you are earning a few bucks you can start outsourcing some of the more tedious aspects of your business and start investing in some of the more expensive forms of advertising.

This is what works for my students and I have been using this same method for over nine years now.

Looking forward to hearing about your success!...

From my experience it is very hard to make money with no money down. Most free opportunities out there simply do not work.
Think logically, if it costs nothing to get into the company, how can it make money?

Anyway, I suggest you do a search for "Bum Marketing" as you may learn lots of free strategies to market products online such as Clickbank etc.
    Good luck

What ever happened to baby sitting, mowing lawns, shoveling snow, getting a paper route, and offering to watch the neighbors cat when they go on vacation?

Perhaps you have something you can sell locally (if you are in the US try craigs list maybe).

It is possible to do without investment, but you will find it is easier if you have some cushion.

Find or learn a skill, and go into doing some freelance work. I know a non native English speaker who is 16 and is starting to build a real web business by going into design. I believe he actually started with a fiverr offer, made a few grand over the summer, and then invested money back into software to build his business more professionally. He has since sold offers here on this forum.

Anyway, take a step back and brain storm a bit. Figure out how to make a few dollars first - even if it is offline.

And so very very very true.

The one thing I *hate* (not saying you're doing this) is giving people smart ideas (like what's been shared in this thread) and then hearing back all the reasons why it will NOT work.

I get that soooo often; I've gotten to the point I'll just refuse to continue discussions (unless it's my kids, who are *finally* internalizing that Mom has zero sympathy for them if they refuse to take ownership).

    With difficulty!

Sorry for sounding flippant, but business is often about invest first and profit later.

That's not to say you have to spend money, but you're either spending money to advance your cause or a lot of your own time.

Why not start on fiverr or freelancing? Offer something you can deliver and do a few gigs. Then you've got some expertise to tell others how to do it. Read this forum, learn and keep growing. Once you've got some money from some gigs, you can invest it into a website, marketing or whatever else you wish.

Best advice I can give - when you earn money - spend it wisely!!!!

Stay motivated and you'll get there - all of us were in the same position at some point.

I really understand your situation, but to be frank like any other businesses, to make online needs some money to invest. Not much..here are the basic requirements

    Domain name registration-$10/year
    Hosting-$10/Month
    Autoresponder-$19/Month

Moreover don't think that you will make money immediately. It requires some time with trial and error. First educate yourself, then implement it. Last but not the least you must follow a proven program that can make you money.

You can never make money without investing. You have to spend to get back the money you have spent. In internet marketing its not too much to spend, you just need to do some research and work whats best for your client. But if I were you, you first apply to some freelance jobs, there are data entry jobs, editing jobs, that will be a good start to get the investment that soon will be a start for your business. Try odesk, freelancer, elance, and craigslist.

I am willing to take the time for now, and maybe when i get more money, i'll invest later. I need something free for now. Like I said, I can't write reviews if i didn't buy the product and stuff. I also try free ways to drive traffic. For instance the ping-o-matic, which is a free ping tool for your blog to get it listed in search results. I have to keep pinging it after i write my post. Here is my blog. gamegadgetblog at blogspot, just type the url yourself. I think my biggest issue is getting traffic. Social media never works for me, only because you have to add a ton of people to your friends list. I need incoming traffic directly to my blog. Another issue is the darn chitika ad program, it doesn't display the right ads. My blog is about gaming not plumbing lol

I think your biggest issue is that you don't own your own website and can lose that one in the night.

There are plenty of equally free alternatives (as explained in post #5 above) without all the risks you're taking at the moment. Your problems are actually not about pinging and how things display. They're about the fact that you've skipped over "business security" and "owning your website", so you're building on sand at the moment. I was a year or two older than you, when I started: take it from an "older woman", here, that you'd be very well advised to re-think that.

What is sad, as we've discussed, is how people are so happy to build sites on platforms they neither own nor control but they probably won't even read the TOS either.

.....Then they'll complain they've lost their site or something else, even though they chose to ignore the excellent advice they were given in the first place.

The OP can get what he really needs for a dollar but will go for something he doesn't own or control, to save that dollar. Not a good idea. One dollar to own your site but the OP decides that's too much. Respectfully, if you wish to start an online business, you should be able to come up with an ingenious way to make a dollar in the offline world. I mean, if you strolled round town all day, you may even find one.

You can do something better - aggregate other people's reviews.

This is a trick used by plenty of affiliate marketers. Just write articles that list the benefits/outcomes of whatever you're promoting, then follow with "Here are some reviews from around the web" and copy the best quotes in from reviews you search for around the web.

5 REAL reviews from other sites will probably sell better than a review from you while people aren't familiar with you.

I know marketers who have free blogs that are years old and do fine. I've seen websites sold in mid 5 figures that had free blogs associated with them. Not all free blogs, of course, disappear.

Several sites suggested for the OPs use have age restrictions - I'd rather see someone use free resources during a learning curve than violate terms and end up with problems later.

Sure, you can get a domain sometimes for $1 - but how do you pay that dollar if you are too young for a paypal account, don't have a credit card....the same is true when signing up for affiliate programs or ad sites. At least in the US, you must be of legal age to enter into a contract.

Of course he did start the thread off with
i am wondering how can i make money online without spending money on any program?
Sometimes the answer is "you may not be able to" and what advice is needed is how to begin learning and positioning yourself to make money WHEN you can afford to buy a domain/site.

I think the range of replies is great as it shows the knowledge here - but I'd include the free range of possibilities as well.

Making money online is all about dedication and the readiness to stick with it no matter what.

You can definitely get a free blog on blogger.com and write your heart out. At least you'll be testing your writing skills that way. Choose a topic of interest and research and start putting content out there.

On blogger you can then monetize with adsense or amazon.

Writing product reviews is also another way to go and this can also be done with free blogging platforms.

Hubpages.com is another good choice to start with your internet marketing journey.

With internet marketing, content creation is the number one skill, you can either do it for yourself or for others. Content could be articles, reviews, graphic design, videos, etc. and all these can be learned for free on the web with a little amount research and also the warrior forum is a good resource for learning how to make money online. There's a lot of free valuable info here.

Take the time to learn and avoid promises of get rich quick schemes.

This is a business and should be taken seriously and in most cases takes time.

So put your heart, mind and work in it.

Visit fiverr to see what services you can offer.

Pm if you need help with ideas.

    Always willing to help.

    Cheers and good luck.

Get yourself and eBay account and sale anything that you have at home that you don't need!

Set yourself a realistic target of $100, once you have reached this goal then you can look at investing this money into buying domain names, hosting and other products you may need.

I was in your shoes not too long ago. I did a lot of stupid things admittedly and never will do them again, spam in forums with affiliate links, add random people in facebook and attempt to sell them affiliate products and post my sites in link farms. Take your time and decide what you really want. In fact I learnt something important, you should invest in a proper website, that is one important thing, don't be penny wise pound foolish. Since, you are 16, ask your mum's permission (thats what I did.) Also, you should follow your passion. Don't rush and do it just for the money that you miss out on the true details that will lead you to your success.

    Heres 2 suggestions:
    1) Selling affiliate products that are worth representing and related to your niche. Ever read a good ebook? You can opt to be an affiliate for them and sell their products. The key to really being a good affiliate is to transfer the good feeling and trust you have in their products to the customer. Just tell them in detail why is it you enjoyed the book and they will not hesitate to buy. You can also post results of your success when using the techniques mentioned product to the customer, an added bonus. For example, if it is a weight training book, show them what you have sculpted on your body so far, maybe some ripped biceps?
    2) Writing an ebook on anything that solved your problem and you feel that you have very solid techniques on it. I am writing an ebook that is based on a problem I have solved recently that is health related so you can too, it takes time though. Don't expect an ebook to be finished in a week. Also, don't take too long to finish it, it is not a book that has to be 300 pages long.

Not to discourage you in anyway, but think about taking a part time job in real life. Work for 2 - 3 months, keep reading this forum. Earn some money and use some, or all, of it to invest in your internet business. Please let me know your thoughts on this.

Already some great advice here. Just to summarize I guess...there are several places online to build a blog or site for free, many mentioned already. There are several places to find affiliate programs, just google it, there's no cost to participate in most. There's also many ways to promote your site without paying for it. Build backlinks yourself, take just a few minutes each day, do 10 to 20. Just pick a great product, great keywords, build a site, promote it. You can do all of it free, you just need to spend more time doing a lot tasks that most experienced marketers outsource. I would advise not trying to do a lot of sites, just 1 or 2, so your efforts will be focused.

If you contact me, I'll see what we can do for you for free on our site as well. I could also give you some other ideas. Good Luck!

The OP can get what he really needs for a dollar but will go for something he doesn't own or control, to save that dollar. Not a good idea.
It's true - but - the OP is 16 and right now is focused on a gaming site. To build a serious online business you need some of the advice above but when you are just starting out sometimes using free resources to see "what happens" is just the way to go.

Free blogs and forums are great places to learn what you are doing - to figure out what people respond to and to test ideas or niches. They aren't great money makers but you have to start somewhere and at 16 it's good to be learning.

I understand and agree with this, Kay.

Still, it's equally true that whereas free blogs at Blogspot can disappear in the night (as countless Warriors have discovered), free blogs at Weebly, Yola, Blinkweb, 000WebHost, Byethost and a number of other places are not subject to the same terms of service and problems, and don't.

It's not about whether they're free - it's about their terms of service.

And that's part of the learning-process, too.

That's a very good point Kay. There are also a lot of people here that try and build businesses on free platforms. There are people in this very thread influencing him with posts like "It's easy, get a Blogger blog". He may feel this is good advice when he does decide to take this more seriously.

If all the OP wants is a place to learn and to create a hobby style gaming site, that's fair enough but when people start the thread off with...

i am wondering how can i make money online without spending money on any program?
...I tend to think differently, however, maybe my idea of a business is different to other members.

He also didn't mention the gaming site in the OP, he did say this though which again influenced my thinking that he was looking for a way to make money online and it was for that reason I wrongly made the assumption he may have wanted to go into business.

Reading that, I'd say he was more focused on making money but if my comments were unhelpful I apologise. He is 16 and I appreciate this is hard. He also has plenty of time to make mistakes and learn.

it's a business. Sorry to say, no shortcut in it. It needs Time n Money both. If somebody told you - only time, no money.... He lied. You do everything yourself on trial and error and spend too much time without earning, you'll lose inspiration. So pls, first find out your strengths and weaknesses. Then do what you can and let others do what they can. You can find 'others' in fiverr.com in cheap price.
Squidoo and hubpages can be a support to your site. But you can't rely on them. They change their policies anytime.

I think as long as you have enough time to invest, you can still earn some money.firstly.you should open a google account, thus, you will own a whole basic tool to grow.you can use the google account to open a free blog site,a adsense account for earning.
THen write start to write good content about the subject you are familar.thus, just join more forums and blog communities to promite your blog site to get massive traffic.of course, you should put the adsense ad code in the blogs to start money now.
I think it is the very easy way to earn for the beginners without a domain purchase.

I suppose the thing is you are saying you are not worth investing in, not a single dime. If you are worth nothing to yourself, how are you going to get other people to give you their hard earned money?

There ARE ways to earn money with no initial investment. Selling some of your surplus stuff on eBay for example, or getting a temporary job in your local burger joint for a few days to get a wee bit to start with?

As well as money it helps to have a bit of initiative. Your first challenge here is to earn just enough to get started on your main project. We are talking very small sums here, as has been demonstrated already.

Please don't be offended, but if you don't have the initiative and drive to overcome this little hurdle then I have to wonder how you will deal with all the inevitable issues you will have to face later on.

Running a business - even an online one! - requires a lot of time and dedication.

You are not yet prepared to invest a single dime in yourself - are you really ready to run your own business?

I wish you luck in whatever you do, please don't think I am trying to knock you back. I just want you to seriously consider what I have just said though, please.

You can start a free blog (blogger or Wordpress) in a niche that you enjoy like sports, skateboarding, favorite video games, etc. Just start talking and then find affiliate products that match your topic. Casually mention these products that you think are cool and include a link to either a squidoo lens, hub pages page, or directly link to the product page.

For a free website, you can go to Weebly.com and get set up. You can use these free tools to get your feet wet and test out what works or doesn't. Once you begin making a few dollars regularly, you can invest in domain names and website hosting.

Dont despair. The one thing you have been doing so far is learning. Imagine how much it costs to go to college. Sounds like you have had a pretty education with IM so far. Hopefully you can apply the lessons you have learnt already. There isnt a magic switch you can flick to make money pour out of your computer into your lap. You have to A) Learn, B) Apply, C) Test....... go back to A,B & C several times before you can reach D..... D=making a little bit of money........ but the more A,B & C you do, the bigger D will get.

    Good luck

Any strategies to making money without a website that doesn't overwhelm you? Give me options for my age. People are also saying you need to buy the product in order to review it properly. You see? I don't have that kind of money to do that, which is why i want to know how to make money without investing. Everything seems impossible, because there is always an obstacle to stop you from doing something. Thank You all for taking you time to answer.

Okay, first you migiht need to invest a little in a website. Not a lot but jsut a little. Either get a job to help fund it or ask your parents. Or do a small gig. Try fiverr if you need some start up money.

Next, pick a niche that you want to get into. Find something that you can write about and make it into a product. I would suggest an ebook, plus auido mp3s and even videos. Depending on what equipment you have.

I would suggest you read up on online marketing as well as how to create pdfs etc.

Making a product costs you no money other than time.

My friend was about your age when he launched his own ebook and website which brought in some nice money. The cool thing about launching your own product and website is that you can help consult other peope and for a fee later on.

    So I hope that helps!

Obviously I am a little bit biased but micro business arbitrage works really well, you just need to research and find the best valued gigs available then relist other peoples services on as many other micro business sites as you can find. Then when you get paid you just send the job to someone else and make a small profit. If you can master arbitrage you can go in any direction you want. hope this helps.

I was going to say sign up as an amazon affiliate and find a product you can build a website around, but you mentioned you don't have 10 bucks for a domain name. Actually thats all it would cost and you could do all the promoting and everything yourself. It would take some time but can be very rewarding as I have come to find out. I got myself a .com the other day for 1.99. Godaddy had a promotion. I'm sure you could come up with a couple bucks for a domain. Truth of the matter is, this is a business and its hard to start one without a little bit of cash. You might also try fiverr for a little while just to get enough cash to do something else. Find people that need a solution, go find the solution on fiverr, sell the solution to whoever for double the money or more.

Listen up! There are so many great suggestions here, but I have to step in and offer a suggestion that will put money in your pocket right away without websites, affiliate offers, ebooks, blah, blah, blah....

Go to fiverr. Look at all the gigs there. Get creative! You're young, you can think of something! Here's an idea: Have a girlfriend? OR Friends who are girls? Look at all the play that the gigs are getting for girls holding up .com domains! Look at the amusing gigs like funny videos, crazy finger puppets, etc., etc. There's SO MUCH stuff that a person like you can do and get paid very quickly with no expenditures.

Just go out there, register and account and do it. ...taps fingers... NO, stop reading more posts, go and do it... NOW...
