How to increase the traffic on my web site?

Hi Warriors,

I will be quick. I have designed and developped a software about online backgammon. I have also been working for a long time on the web site. But so far, my sales have been quite disappointing because the traffic is low.

So, Warriors I think I need you now. Could you give me some hints/tips to increase my traffic?

Thanks in advance for your help!

davmo

PS: Of course... if you like playing backgammon, you could try yourself the Demo Version of the software available in the website - see. below on my sign!

Well it takes a lot of consistent work to get a consistent flow of traffic to your site. Start a social media presence. Be on facebook and have a fan page. Be on twitter, google+ and linkedin as well. Start engaging and develop some relationships. Another you can do forum marketing just make sure your site is on your signature file. SEO is also a good way to generate free traffic. You can either learn this or hire someone who specializes in this. Another is you can do PPC, a paid method but definitely shows quick results.

Are there backgammon blogs? I have no idea if there are, but if there are can you get some popular backgammon bloggers to promote you? If the software will be helpful to backgammon players (or whoever it targets, maybe sites, I have no idea as I still play on a real-world board) some will gladly review it, while others may be persuaded to be affiliates for it.

Thanks guy for your responses. I am going to work on those. In fact, what I am learning at the moment is something like this: to succeed with a product or service, this one must be good, the web site must be very good, and the traffic must be excellent!

Maybe the most important today is the traffic and not the product itself!

Sorry for my english, since it is not my native language.

For how much time you are promoting your website. You have to do the promotion continuously to get the maximum traffic to your site. But it will take time as well. But once your traffic starts receiving traffic there is no looking back.

    Good Luck!

What is a good traffic? What does it mean for a site as mine? 20 visits per day, 50 visits, 100, or more?

    Thanks a lot Warriors!

A typical conversion ratio is probably about 1% or less so to get 1 sale a day you would need at least 100 unique visitors per day. I wouldn't target a specific number really like the other members have said its a continual process that you need to work on every single day. The more visitors you get the more sales you can make.

Thanks a lot for this interesting ratio: 1 sale per 100 unique visitors per day. Does it mean that we can also get 1 sale per 100 unique visitors per week? I don't think so. There is also probably a dynamic/speed to take into account.

Do you know web sites, forums, wikis that talk about it?

      Thanks in advance

Tyr searching for some wikis related to backgammon and leave your site as a resource. Some won't give you a do-follow backlink or anything but it will increase your traffic.

As usual the Warriors on this forum are full of good advice.

Search Engine Optimization if a marathon.
You must work at it for a long time.

      1. Work at learning what it is...do not expect it to happen overnight.
      2. Implement what you learn and take the best for your site.
      3. Outsource what you can not do yourself (if you have a budget great!)

Personally I have learned over the last 3 to 4 months how to do SEO myself and it's time consuming.

Once you learn how to properly do "On Page" Search Engine Optimization. You are going to have to start promoting your site as these warriors have told you.

Primarily you need to have as many backlinks as possible to your site from other sites...especially high ranking sites.

Check out the resources in my signature to learn more about the SEO tools that are available for free to beginners. There are some good paid tools as well.

If your budget is small...focus on learning about SEO and Backlinking. Good luck to you in your venture.

It's not taboo. You could look in the JV foum to see if anyone in the gaming niche would be interested in doing a joint venture to promote your product. Alternatively, if you have an affiliate program (always a good source of traffic) you can post it in the Affiliate Program Database.

You can but beware the quality. Many of the offers on there look great and even have good feedback but watch what the people say in the feedback.

Most will say "delivered on time" "delivered as ordered" and other very non committal comments like that. You will see very few saying that the traffic converted.

I'm not trying to be a party pooper. Just saying be wary. If it looks too cheap there is prob a reason.

    Hi,

You could try in this order from most expensive to least for quick traffic:

    adwords >> MS adcenter >> 7search.

if you use good keywords, 7search does work quite well.

    good luck

Thanks a lot guys for your advices!

I am going to work hard on ways you mentioned above. I am interested in AdWords. And BabyMama's offer seems to be really attractive!

I think Backgamii.com (see. my sign) is probably a gaming niche, since there are over 140K in the USA alone that have an interest in Backgammon. Poker bots are used a lot for the game online, while Backgamii is the first official bot to play on backgammon sites. And the tool plays backgammon excellently. So, to be quick... I believe in backgamii.com, because the tool I propose is something really new and efficient for making money!

Warriors, Backgamii is a software obeying the rule "Try before you buy". So, why don't you try the Demo Version?

    Have a good WE!

Go where your audience traffic is already. Run a search in YouTube for 'Playing backgammon', 'learning backgammon'. Find videos that have high view rates. See if the creator of the video(s) has a channel with lots of videos? Is the owner of the channel currently monetizing their channel? If they aren't currently monetizing their channel then PM them through YouTube and ask if they would be willing to feature a banner linking to your site on their channel for $15/month (or whatever makes sense commercially for your product price point). Rinse and repeat until you find some takers. Pay them via paypal, send them the banner and watch some targeted traffic come in.

Being that we are a PPC search engine I am making myself available to you should you have any specific questions. Shoot me an email and we can discuss further if you choose. bstanley at 7search.com.

As many of the people suggested, PPC is definitely the fastest way to increase traffic to your site. Try setting up a Facebook PPC campaign and measure the results. You should be able to generate some high-quality leads from that alone. Good luck!

Now paid campaigns you really have to do your research to make it profitable, find out WHO your perfect customer is, and WHERE they are then place the ads there. For free traffic, look to youtube, twitter, and google. This forum I'm sure covers all these topics so you maybe want to look around there.
