What's the best solution you've tried yourself for building an Amazon associates store that looks/behaves like an eCommerce store?

Thanks!

Surf Shop using WP Zon Builder.

Not sure if this is what you had in mind. But I like it.

I like it too...very nice uncluttered, clean look.
If you built it yourself...good job.

Not exactly what you're looking for...but I LOVE phpzon (google it). You can tweak it to make it look like an ecommerce store if you want without much effort...and Wade's forum is amazing too *you get access when you buy phpzon* (and I'm not affiliated with phpzon except for using it myself on hundreds of my sites).

I personally think that Fresh Store Builder is the best Amazon store software of the bunch. It is extremely flexible and built specifically for creating Amazon stores.

I agree with Peter, Fresh Store Builder gives you the most freedom when it comes to building a online amazon store.

Here is just some demo setups I have seen

Stalfo Shop Template Demo - Secure Online Shop
Classic Coloured Template Demo - Secure Online Shop

This is 2 of the free themes you get and they are 100% unencrypted, so if you have experience in html/css and Photoshop skills then you can really tweak the store anyway you want. I seen some very nice stores built with this script and one of them is Performance Custom Car Parts & Styling Accessories.

      Gotta disagree.

The timing of my critique may not be in Fresh Store Builder's favour as I have thrown the towel in this morning on trying to get the script to perform very simply tasks.

Changing background colours, playing around with logos, adding sidebars and having text inside them that doesn't bleed over into the page are all things I have had to contend with.

Granted, that once an issue is raised with support then the developers will email you a fix for the problem but I don't want to buy a product so that I am being used to highlight bugs within the program to the developers.

The support forum there is on the verge of abandonment as members asking for help haven't had their posts replied to in months.

Fresh Store Builder allows you to embed Amazon products within your site just like any other Amazon script.

What would Fresh Store Builder be the only one to allow you to have 90 day cookies ?

Are you talking about Amazon ?

In that case, if I get Phpzon API version and used it with XSitepro , can I get similar results ? anyone have this and could give an example how it looks like (Xsitepro+PHPZon pro ) ?

        Thanks

I have set up one of these let me tell you Elegant themes are nice looking... They are not user friendly at all... and I know what I'm doing at least I thought until I started using this theme.

Yes it work with two shopping carts choices and both are free in the WP market.

I would not want to set up one of these again.

Plain old php, html, css, wordpress, sweat and tears.
I promise you I have learned, those automated store builders do hold up in time. If you want quick money then GO for it.

If you want a solid website that grows with time then stay away.
Google hates automation and it will come to an end.

Amazon's policy is when items are already placed into the shopping cart, the cookie lasts to 90 days as long as the items are added within the 24-hour timeframe. If it's a straight-off Amazon link cookie (no checkout, just visit), then it's 24hrs.

      https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...es/help/t2/a11

How long do visitors have to add an item to their Shopping Cart after clicking on one of my Amazon links until I no longer earn a referral fee on their purchase?

You earn referral fees on any qualifying items placed in a customer's Shopping Cart within 24 hours of their arrival at Amazon.com via your Associates link.

However, this 24-hour window closes once the customer submits his order or reenters Amazon.com through another Associate's link. Once the window is closed, you will not earn referral fees on any subsequent purchases. However, if the customer then returns to Amazon.com through one of your Associates links, this opens a new 24-hour window.

It is of course possible that a customer may arrive at Amazon.com via your Associates link, add an item to his Shopping Cart, and then leave Amazon.com without placing an order.

As long as the item was added to the customer's Shopping Cart during this 24-hour window, you will still earn a referral fee if the order is placed before the Shopping Cart expires (usually after 90 days). The referral fee will not be credited to your Associates account until the customer has purchased the item, accepted delivery, and remitted full payment to Amazon.com.
In short, FSB works just like Amazon's aStore's shopping cart (just heck of a lot prettier and more customizable).

That's mighty pretty indeed... However, what's the back-end that runs the ecommerce theme? Coz the problem with many themes are they're designed for blogging in mind and will only show the latest posts or manually tagged items... Would love to know more.

I was not aware of FSB until I read this thread. I have a couple of domain names I've struggled to get off the ground because I can't make Wordpress do what I want.

FSB was just the ticket. I downloaded it through the WSO and bought the upgrade. This is less expensive overall plus you get 60 days guaranty (return policy) rather than the standard 30.

I had it up and running in no time. The keyword research and writing took me longer than anything else. Site now published. SEO work shall commence but at least the site looks the way I wanted it to look, no problem. Hopefully I'll see an increase in traffic and Amazon sales.

Amazon's API isn't good enough to generate relevant products with any consistency, I've tried PHPzon several times and it never works as good as PHPbay did.

I wrote an epic-long post on my blog about shopperpress (no aff link) and how it is particularly useful to amazon affiliates because of the amazon auto-update feature that the creator made some months ago.

If you're looking for an affiliate site that exactly mimics an ecomm site exactly then its the best bet IMO.

I tried FRESH STORE BUILDER on two sites and probably spent about 6 hours experimenting with the different layouts, building categories, importing products, changing titles, etc.

I havent seen anything out there that beats the "store" look and feel as well as the undated pricing info.

But then after hours of work, I realized that I had no real control or ownership of these sites. Sure I owned the domain name but if FSB suddenly disappeared or support for the scrip was terminated, so would my hours and hours of work and revenue streams. With FSB, you are using their servers and their platform under their control.

Also I did not like the fact that there was discussion by the owners about charging an annual fee on top of what I already paid. It was only $15 but could be any amount in the future.

That is why I have gone back to my own WordPress installation on a server that I can access anytime and even move it if I need to. I could even flip it easily if I want to.

I am currently using a plugin made by Quazi Touheed called WPAmazonProfits. You can find it here on the forum. Very clean and easy to install. Because it is a Wordpress plugin you have complete control over the site design and ownership.

By the way, it took over a week to receive a refund and only after filing a PayPal dispute.

False. The scipt is over 95% unencrypted and the encrypted part would never need to be changed. Should the worst happen (i.e. I die) members of my team and family have the authority and instruction to either continue the software, sell it to a suitable party or release the code as open source. This has been discussed in our private forum and I have assured the above to all my users.

When you order FSB you get unrestricted access to download the software and install on your servers. All your FSB stores belong 100% to you.

There is a discussion about a $15 yearly fee in the private forum although it was abandoned a few months ago. We will not be charging any subscription or ongoing fee either now or in the future.

The yearly fee was well recieved and most users understood that it would help further FSB, however during our testing it had a significant impact on new users decision to choose Fresh Store Builder.

No piece of software has an infinite shelf life so for us to worry about that is pointless.

However, as the owner of the software you may be interested to hear the views of someone who has paid for your software and tried to use it and my experience is not good.

Granted, it is very easy to get an Amazon store up and running using FSB but only if you want to use the default theme without logo, customised colors etc. Almost any other forum of customisation and that's when I started to run into problems.

The support forum is not worth the time and effort visiting and many people posting questions on there are still waiting for answers 4 months or longer after initially posting the question.

I am just working through my 2nd FSB site and I went to the member's area to look at the forums for some help and I see that you're now going to charge $47 per year for access to the forum. This contradicts your statement below...

What's the long term plan for the forum? Is it going to become a membership site on top of a paid item?

***EDIT*** I see now that it says "Private Forum section for exclusive downloads, ideas and tips" ----- What exactly does that mean?

Has anyone had any success getting ranked with Fresh Store Builder? I have had a store live for about a month now and the site hasn't even started showing up in the SERPs.

The keywords I'm trying to rank for are very low competition and I would have had a WordPress site in the top 20 by now easily.

I really like the Fresh Store Builder script for the ability to build Amazon store fronts but I'm looking to other warriors to see if they've had success getting a Fresh Store Builder site ranked and converting sales.

            Thanks!

"Domain Dude is an ex user who has had offensive posts deleted from my WSO thread"

Careybaird, with all due respect, I did use the correct email from day one and received a trouble ticket #652030 from Nihad.

The "offensive post" as you call it, was asking you why it was taking a week to process my refund and ignoring my additional emails and a PM to you personally. I can understand why this would be offensive to you.

I raised some concerns as to why FSB was not right for me as well as gave the script an honest complement based on my personal usage.

This is my last post regarding this issue.

However, I could not sit back and let you demean me.

I wish you only the best.

I checked out associate-o-matic and was very impressed. There is a free version which is a share the profits model. Every 10th sale goes to associate-o-matic. Interesting concept and you get a chance to try the store interface at no cost.

    Hi,

    this one point I must always think about is this;

Why should a user buy on your affiliate/amazon ecommerce store and not direct on amazon or on the original vendor commerce store?

That is the point I be confused.
