Another Keyword Research Tool

Hi Warriors.
I need help again as usual. I recently watched a video by Ewen Chia about keyword research where he says one should select "exact" for one's keyword research but I am not sure why this is so.

Do it mean you can not rank for "10 pounds" when the tittle of your article says "how to lose 100 pounds". Please enlight me.

No. Google's Keyword Tool has "Match Type" combo box on the right side. If you select "exact" that means it shows the demand for the actual keyword phrase itself. if you type in "home rental" it shows 368,000 searches per month with "broad" match type. But if you switch to exact match type now, it shows only 9,900 searches per month for "home rental". The second number shows the number of searches where people type in EXACTLY "home rental" (without the quotes), while the first search includes broad phrases like "home rental in Miami".

The "exact" match type is more useful for SEO search, while "broad" gives you a slightly better idea on niche popularity.
